Went Sunday for brunch with my children and husband...waited and was passed up in the seating line...sent husband to see the reason...she skipped us and seated us immediately acknowledging her mistake....ordered immediately...as others after us began to be seated...ordered after us were being served...I asked my husband to inquire and was frustrated...Desiree...our waitress was offended by me passing on my frustration.....soon after, came to the table with our order...messed up my order...now I was upset and the server took it personal...came back..tossed my food on the table and said since I chewed her out she had enough and walked away...I was speaking to my husband and angrily at the behavior...he called over who we thought was the manager and I told her I did not want that server to wait on us any longer...so she stepped in..as I said that to the lady...the server yelled over other customers that she didn't want to serve us either...I was appalled!...turns out that the person that took over was actually the owner...she did not reprimanded the employee in anyway and the server continued to speak with other worker's ill will about my family...I would've just left but my little girls were starving and I let them finish their meal...in the end...the actual manager and another worker came and apologized..and advised us to call corporate..so as we were leaving the owner came out and said that the table next to us said that I cussed this server out for the duration! How could that be true when she no longer waited on my table!!!..owner didn't compensate us in anyway to soothe or correct or make right the whole experience....it was the worst experience I have ever had in any establishment...to make matters worse...my husband and I called corporate and they said they would talk with the owner!! Lmao!!!! I will never return to that establishment...I was advised by the manager that this server also had other grievances against this her and since the owner was there he could do nothing...if i or anyone who actually read reviews...should never step into an establishment where the owner her self could not handle their own employees..business or...
Read moreThe food at IHOP is actually not bad at all, the prices are reasonable, the portion sizes are fair, and as far as one can tell, the ingredients are pretty fresh at most times. The reason why this long time Victoria staple deserves the rating in which I've given it is simple, the management is downright awful. Now that isn't to say that when you sit down to eat here that your server is going to be awful as well, on the contrary, customer service tends to be on par with what you'd expect and at times even surprisingly good. However that is where the hospitality abruptly ends, and where apparently, the restaurant seems perfectly happy to keep it. Poor management and an almost tactile sense of workplace instability completely smother any potential chance that this location has to truly shine, and it's honestly a shame, as it still remains a family favorite to most residents of Victoria. The fact that the majority of customers leave feeling wholly unsatisfied is the symptom of a much larger problem that can be traced all the way from the top. A consistently inconsistent menu inventory, plethora of unresolved customer complaints, general sense of disorganization in basic restaurant operations, and a prevailing reputation for being an entirely unwholesome and unwelcome environment are just a few factors that influence my decision. What it all comes down to in the end is given this location's past history and it's trend of being rather an unpleasant dining establishment, is the food worth it? And if it really is just a case of bad management and poor representation, then why not fix the problem from the top? Or at least attempt to? Read moreVery short staffed that day. I waited 40 min for takeout. Mgt didn't respond when I found her at the back counter with a customer. I searched for the first and only staff member I could find that wasn't waiting tables. I informed her that I had been waiting 15 min to find someone to take care of my takeout and that since they did not have an employee even walk through the front area in that period she may want to know that 3 groups of people had left during my wait so far. She did say that she was the manager when I asked for one in the beginning however once I explained the situation to her in a friendly informative manner she didn't even thank me. She just turned her head to continue her previous task. I then gave her another opportunity to respond by saying "I just thought you would like to know...I hate for you to lose business at this rate." Still crickets not a word or a smile. I then quickly returned to the front where I witnessed two other people leave. That day it was raining very hard so I know no one wanted to get soaked again without even a greeting much less being fed.
