Olive Garden Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Victoria

My wife and I have been regular customers to Olive Garden (Victoria, TX) since they opened, and have always come away with a good experience up until our last visit. On Sunday May 27 at around 4pm we went into the restaurant for an early dinner. We had both eaten different items for breakfast that day, and had skipped lunch so we could catch an early evening dinner.

My wife ordered Shrimp Scampi and I ordered Chicken Parmesan. During the meal I ate a couple of her shrimp and we shared the salad. The total cost for meal was $50.84.

At around 1 am that night, we BOTH started with, I have to say the worse case of food poisoning I have ever experienced in my life. We were both down and out for about 24 hours. It was obvious by both my wife and I that the food poisoning was from either the Shrimp or the Lettuce from our Olive garden meal, since it was the ONLY two things we had eaten or drank the same that day.

By Tuesday morning we both started feeling better, and was able to get out of bed. I called into the restaurant to report what had happened. The assistant store manager took my call and was sympathetic and understanding and wished us a fast recovery. She offered to send us out a gift card for our troubles, which I politely accepted and thanked her for. Later that day the manager himself called and apologized for the issue.

Today we received the gift card in the mail. The gift card was for $15.00.

Olive Garden has now lost 2 long-time regular customers because of this one...

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with my better half!

Our order comprised of the house salad, Spicy Shrimp Scampi Fritta, Chicken and Gnocchi soup and Chicken Scampi!

The house salad was a very substantial helping and was enough for the two of us. We did ask for an extra dressing drizzle, but it was very nice and flavourful as is too!

The Shrimp Is available in classic or spicy and we really loved the spicy variant. It was just what we were looking for. Loved the texture of the finely chopped pepper. Full Points 🙌🏻

The gnocchi soup was just right and the Chicken Scampi needs a special mention for how soft and well done the chicken was. We split the Chicken Scampi and it ended up being more than filling for us and was tasty down to the last morsel.

Even though the restaurant was really busy, service was efficient and very swift. Even the manager found time to ask us about how we were doing. Plus points for that as well.

A special shout out goes to Eli, who was looking after us. Eli's recommendations for the drink and food allowed us to cater for a perfect spread that complimented each other and was just right for a party of two. Along with some ready wit at the end of his sleeve, he was also very efficient and courteous. Our dinner was greatly improved by having Eli serving and looking after us.

Would definitely be back, maybe for the Roscato and Spicy Shrimp...

Went for dinner last night, we were seated right away, drink order and appetizer order were taken and came out moments later and our dinner order was taken. As we waited for our order to come out "J" our waitress was very attentive and made sure we had full drinks as we waited. As we sat waiting she came to the table a few times letting us know the status if our order, As we waited customers came in and were seated, order taken and order received within 20 min. We sat waiting "J" assured us our order was coming soon and was very apologetic each time because it was taking so long. We waited a total of about 45 min, Our waitress as she brought our order out informed us that she felt really bad about the wait time and had brought it up to her manager and said that he would come speak to us in a moment. He came to the table and was very apologetic about the wait and assured us that he would make it right and if we needed anything at all just to let him know, and he did just that! Our waitress and her manager went above and beyond to make things right and we appreciate that! I don't believe the food makes the establishment, I believe the people busting their butts to make sure your visit was enjoyable as can be do! So hard off to you! We enjoyed our visit very much and "J" (our waitress) keep up the great work! We will definitely be back very soon!...
