TLDR; small shop, big prices, small portions, bad service and bad food. Trying a new place is often hit or miss, this was a big miss. Avoid unless serious changes are made. Reviewed on 12/1/23.
Entered on a Friday evening, which meant "all you can eat" wasn't available, as it's only available on certain days of the week. Shop was nearly empty, the only decoration being japanese lanterns on the exterior of the building and framed pictures of some of the sushi plates they serve on the wall inside. We were greeted with a long silence, and found a seat. Menus were brought to us with one happy hour menu to share between us. It was "happy hour" which to them means about 10-20% off full price, not a very exciting deal. I purchased a bowl of miso soup (small) for $2, and a single cup of hot tea that took ten minutes to produce (just a tea bag in a small mug of hot water) for another $2. Water quality was good. Fountain drink selection is sparse and they compensate for it with $1.50 cans of soda. We had two orders of gyoza (Happy hour $5 each plate, six gyoza per plate) completely crunchy and small. I had to wave the waitress down and ask for chop sticks as none were provided to the table, and we weren't checked in on. Food prep times weren't bad, but when they came out the rolls were very small (we ordered probably five plates and ended up eating another meal at home later because everyone was left unsatisfied). We were three guests, but were only provided one dish of wasabi and ginger for the three of us. The waitress came to the table once to refill our water. Ended up paying and leaving without tipping, which is extremely rare for us. The after dinner mint provided in a fish statuette was small, strong but oddly flavored. I recommend the owners improve service, ambiance, the menu's visual quality, and value to the customer (food quality...
Read moreAVOID this place!!! Total honest review. Our usual spot for lunch was closed today so we decided we would give this "sushi" spot a try due to their lunch specials. Total regret as soon as i received my food. their menu says their chicken teriyaki comes with shrimp and veggie tempura, miso soup, and salad. false!!!!! when i confronted jaylene about it she said they need to remove that from their menu and said sorry. I would've been a little bummed about the false advertisement but what really pushed me to write this well needed review was the food. I ordered 2 chicken teriyaki specials, 1 salmon special, 1 kids chicken teriyaki bowl, and 2 super crunchy rolls. Please view my photos to see the poor food given. Food did not taste fresh at all. My husband literally spit the chicken back out right away and tossed all the ckicken meals in the trash, he said it was not safe for the kids to eat. I also tried my salmon plate and the salmon was stale. So not only was the portion ridiculous but the food was horrible. now to be honest the crunchy rolls were just okay, didn't taste fresh but the kids still said it was okay. I would compare it to the sushi from stater bros that sits in their fridge all day. $62 down the drain. I really don't recommend this place at all in fact i feel I deserve a refund back for the food we had to toss. Total regret as we had to go buy food elsewhere. Stay away, health department should be aware. Nobody should be served...
Read moreThis sushi place is awesome! First of all it’s a family owned business. Both the sushi chefs are brothers and have been making sushi for over 15 years. The location is hidden away in the corner of the shopping center it’s located in and is very clean and comfortable inside. They have quite a good selection of different sushi and plenty of options for people who don’t like sushi. All of the rolls we tried where beautifully prepared and delicious. I highly recommend the pineapple sake, it’s there own recipe and it’s served cold with a few pineapple chunks at the bottom of the sake glass. The service made us feel so at home, the kind of dining experience you can only get from small family owned and operated businesses. They also have a really reasonably priced all you can eat option on Tuesday - Thursday for only 30 dollars and you can order up to 3 rounds. This is definitely one of our new favorite restaurants in the high desert and we will be coming back soon. I can’t recommend this place...
