The manager Shae, appears to be on a power trip and lacks of professionalism. On June 20, 2025, I took my daughters and younger brother to Scandia to celebrate my daughter’s 7th birthday. I typically don’t throw birthday parties, so for the past few years, Scandia has been our go-to place for a fun celebration.
Usually, I purchase one game card, but this time, since there were five kids, I decided to buy a second one. However, obtaining the second card was a problem—the touchscreen register wasn’t printing receipts, so I didn’t receive the new card I paid for. I called over an employee, who was extremely helpful. He asked another staff member Mrs. Manger to assist me. She was also kind and helped resolve the issue caused by the faulty register.
We spent several hours at Scandia, and I had loaded over $100 worth of points onto the cards (two separate purchases of $57). Toward the end of our visit, my younger brother asked me to join him on the Scandia Screamer ride. After the ride, the ride operator forgot to return our card. When we got back to the car, I asked my brother if he had it, but he hadn’t received it, so I sent him back in to retrieve it.
My brother is only 17, and he soon texted me saying that the employees were accusing him of trying to steal the card and were asking for a receipt. This surprised and confused me many people had seen us enter and exit the ride. I went back inside and spoke with the employee, who I later learned was the acting manager, Shae. When I asked what the issue was, she immediately demanded to know how many points were on the card. I explained that I didn’t know the exact number and showed her the receipt from my Apple Wallet. I also explained the earlier issue with the register and where I had obtained the card.
Despite all the evidence, Shae refused to believe me and accused me of trying to steal the card. She even asked for the last four digits of my debit card, which I provided. Still, she insisted, “I don’t see any receipt, and if you can’t tell me exactly how many points were on the card, how do I know you’re not trying to steal it?”
Thankfully, the helpful employee from earlier, Mrs. Manger was present and confirmed the issue I had with the touchscreen register, verifying that I was telling the truth. That’s when Shae said, “Well, I was helping you, wasn’t I? I could have refused to provide you service.” I responded, “By not giving me back the card I paid for, you are essentially stealing from me.”
Shae continued repeating that she was going to refuse me service and told me to leave. I told her I was already leaving, but I wanted the general manager’s information first. At that point, both Shae and Mrs. Manger disappeared into the kitchen and left me waiting several minutes. Eventually, I had to ask another employee to provide me with the general manager’s contact information.
I am extremely disappointed by Shae’s unprofessionalism, lack of customer service skills, and her unwillingness to listen or show any empathy. What should have been a fun day for my daughters ended in frustration and stress because of her behavior.
The card they gave me back was a new one with only 30 points on it. For those of us familiar with Scandia, we know that our reward tickets are stored directly on the card. So, from the $57 I spent, I lost all my reward tickets simply because Shae failed to return the original card. It was such a simple...
Read moreScandia left me and my family with a good impression after spending the day there for my 9 year old son's birthday with some of his friends. We've been living up here for 4 years now and wish we would have visited sooner. We felt that we got enough value for our money. As long as your expectations are reasonable for a small, family owned, family fun center, you will be pleased as well. I can't comment on the batting cages as we did not have an opportunity to use them but they seemed nice. I am definitely bringing my son back for that.
Pricing for 10 people or more comes out to only $15.75 a person (regular $24.50 for the diamond pass). That includes all day rides, batting cages, unlimited golf and one ride on there biggest ride, the Scandia Screamer. I really enjoyed that ride. Included with the diamond pass is a card with 25 points that you can use in a decently sized arcade or batting cage. On top of that you can reserve a party room (which we did) for up to 35 guests for FREE. You provide your own food, drinks and decorations. Cant beat that.
Although staff was minimal, they were well trained on safety, and were very friendly. They constantly kept updating over loudspeaker on the status of rides as they kept alternating opening and closing rides due to limited staff. I do have to mention that although limited on staff, in no way did we have to wait too long before a ride we wanted to get on was opened. You just had to let the staff know. Had a blast with the little ones on the Michael Jackson slide. Yes, the one from his Neverland Ranch.
The park is kept reasonably clean. Restrooms were clean as well. Had plenty of toilet paper. We didn't notice any gross trash other than empty cups that were left behind by patrons throughout the park.
Upkeep was decent enough. New carpet in arcade area. Plenty of empty trash cans placed throughout the park. A few lights out throughout the park but didn't cause any areas that were too dim at night. There where a few minor areas where property maintenance could be improved. Landscaping could be a little better. Noticed some leaves in the streams and a few wet areas on the astro turf in the golf areas due to irrigation run off. Some missing shingles on the small prop houses and some paint here and there wouldn't hurt. Over all, none of these minor issues take away from your over all experience though. Only one ride was closed that day for reasons that I did not ask about. Enough parking for a fairly full day.
I hope the owner has enough resources to expand the property and bring in some bigger rides from the now closed down Ontario Scandia to bring in some more clientele. This place just needs to offer more to do as I can understand how some people get bored quickly due to the minimal amount of attractions. No need to raise prices if they market well to bring in more people. I would start sending out flyers with promotions to the high desert. I have a feeling a lot of family's would come.
We will be visiting Scandia some time in the future again. Would visit sooner but like I said, there's not enough of attractions to keep you coming back frequently. I hope that business improves for the owners and this Scandia doesnt suffer the same fate the Ontario one did.
Thank you Scandia and your staff for a fun filled day for my wife and I, our kids...
Read moreWe have gone to Sacramento many times and my son had always noticed that we past by Scandia countless number of times, but never had the opportunity to stop and visit. Today we had a free vacation day and we asked our son what he would like to do. He said let's go to Scandia in Sacramento, CA. He told us that he looked it up many times on-line and would like to go and play miniature golf, since that was something he loved when Golfland was around in our area. We complied with his wishes and decided to go to Sacramento to visit Scandia. When we arrived on a Sunday morning, it was a bit quiet and we had much of the place all to ourselves. We were glad we went in the morning, because as noon came along more and more began to show up, and it got hotter. We have learned that Scandia in Sacramento is the original, and very first start-up, family-owned, Family Fun center in the area, and have been in this location for over 30 years. Wow! This family certainly has a vision and perseverance to serve the local community with such a worth-while establishment. Thank you, Scandia family, for helping the community promote wholesome family fun and keep crime off the streets. Well, to our surprise, when we arrived to Scandia - Sacramento, it was much more than what we expected. We thought we were here just for some miniature golf, and discovered so much exciting things the entire family can do here at Scandia. Scandia has a very elaborate miniature golf course (with a Scandinavian theme), a cool indoor arcade (brings back childhood memories), a sky screamer (wow!), and really scary raceway, bumper boats, Lapland landslide, a Norway flyer, and more. And when you're all tired out and hungry, Scandia also has a great snack bar with the greatest food and drinks to satisfy most anyone. Other than the out-of-this-world fun you can (and) will have here, we feel that the most important thing that made our visit most inviting and memorable is the management and the people. Every employee (mostly young) we came across was awesome! We had the opportunity (and honor) to meet the shift manager, (Jasmine Ayala). Jasmine has been working there for over ten years for the owners of Scandia, since she was in high school and loved her job. From how well she trained all of the young employees who work there (and they are so upbeat and courteous, it is indicative she has a passion and knack for being in the position she is in. In addition to her managerial duties, Jasmine is also the casting director for a Halloween event that is coming up in October. We will certainly be looking forward to that! All in all, if you are in search for a family enriched fun center, look no further. We have found a gem for you; Scandia Family Fun Center in Sacramento. Even if you do not have any children, adults will also be assured a great time as well; bringing out that kid at heart.Come one, come all, come to Scandia Family Fun Center, and ask for manager Jasmine Ayala. Jasmine will guide you through some unforgettable fun time.Kudos to the Scandia family and all of their valuable and friendly...
