Very disappointing experience It was our first time trying this restaurant. The place is very average and the staff were not friendly at all. We ordered Fattoush salad and grape leaves as appetizers, and Chicken Majbos for the main dish. After about 15 minutes, the main dish was served together with the grape leaves. I pointed out that both the salad and grape leaves were listed under appetizers on the menu, so they should have been served before the main dish, but the salad still hadn’t arrived. Their response was very rude — they just said, “This was ready, so we brought it.” They also didn’t bring the drinks, and when I asked, they told me to take them myself from the fridge. On top of that, they didn’t even have Diet Coke, which was listed. According to the menu, the main dish should have included chicken, rice, onions, raisins, and nuts. What we got was just chicken and rice with only three or four raisins — no onions, no nuts. The food quality and service were very poor, and the price was absolutely not worth it. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

First time at this restaurant, the food was delicious, the lentil soup, the fish, the Turkish coffee (would definitely serve it with dates) the Kunafa. Would definitely come back and recommend it. The server with the hijab was super attentive, constantly checking if we needed anything, she was great !. The younger girl needs a little more training and not be on her phone so much and pay more attention to the clients. Another little tip would be to let the customers that are dinning in that they need to order at the cash register, I was a little confused at first if the server was going to come to my table or not. Overall great experience

I just had the most amazing dish of (mechbous/makbous/kabsa — or call it whatever you like) I’ve ever had outside the Arabian Gulf area, and I’m honestly stunned! I never expected to find such authentic, high-quality Arabian Gulf cuisine in this part of the world. Most rice dishes I’ve tried in the DMV were disappointing to me as a very picky foodie, but here, every bite was beyond expectations — rich, flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable. Huge thanks to Maryam for her kindness and generosity; she’s such a wonderful person, and you can truly feel the heart behind the food. You’ll definitely be seeing me here again and again! 🤩🍽️🔥

As a middle eastern am not coming back to this place after waiting for it to open.. am only giving it 2 stars because the food can have good potential to it in the future after they fix their customer service. First walking in, there were dirty tables that werent cleaned and there was leftover plates of food in some tables too. Half of the menu was not available or “sold out”.. if you are claiming “you just opened” and you were not ready then the place shouldnt even have opened until you are fully prepared and ready to serve everyone without the same excuse under a bad review you get! The kitchen behind the counter was FILTHY! Food on the floor and counters and was absolutly dirty! Forgetting to bring out items that were ordered was very annoying since there were no waitress and having to go up to the cashier to ask for them is unacceptable in a restaurant.. also ordering items and confirming they have them then changing it to something else because they dont have it anymore is beyond unprofessional!! Also, being served middle eastern food with plastic utensils was EXTREMLY ANNOYING.. i have never been to a sit down restaurant serving us food with a wrapped plastic spoon… lastly the amount of yelling, loud noise and laughing from the staff members that was taking place in the restaurant while people were trying to enjoy their meal was so disrespectful! I understand “you just opened” ( which was a month ago btw) but if you werent ready to give a good service to your customers then you shouldnt have opened at all until...

First and foremost, congratulations on establishing your restaurant. It’s clear that a great deal of hard work and dedication has gone into creating a welcoming space, and you're doing a wonderful job so far.

I understand that staffing can be a challenge at times, and I truly admire the effort you're putting in under those circumstances. That said, I’d love to offer a few friendly suggestions that might help enhance the overall customer experience even further.

One small but meaningful improvement could be to warmly greet guests upon arrival. Don’t hesitate to stand up and offer a smile or a kind word—it makes a big difference and leaves a lasting first impression. Customers feel more welcome and appreciated when they are acknowledged right away.

Additionally, keeping the entrance door and windows clean and free of dust or fingerprints can greatly improve the appearance of your space. A quick cleaning twice a day, just 20 to 25 minutes—is usually sufficient to maintain a bright and polished look.

These are small details, but they can have a significant positive impact, especially in a competitive area where customers have many choices. I hope you’ll consider this feedback as it’s offered with the best intentions to support your continued success and help create the best possible experience for your guests.

Wishing you all the very best in your journey, and thank you for your...

Dar Mariam is truly a gem! From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped by a warm welcome, an inviting atmosphere, and tantalizing aromas that promised something extraordinary.

Food: Absolutely outstanding. The authenticity of the dishes is immediately evident—every flavor layer is present in harmony. Whether it was the rich and tender meat, the perfectly balanced spice blends, or the fresh, vibrant sides—each plate felt lovingly crafted.

Service: Attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate. The staff went above and beyond to explain the menu options, offer recommendations, and ensure every detail was just right. It felt more like being hosted in someone’s home than in a restaurant.

Ambience: Cozy, elegant, yet unpretentious. The décor strikes a lovely balance—warm lighting, tasteful touches, clean and comfortable. Great for a relaxed meal or a special dinner.

Value: Very good. Given the quality of the ingredients, the portion sizes, and the overall experience, I felt I got more than what I paid for.

Dar Mariam doesn’t just serve food—it delivers an experience: authentic flavors, generous hospitality, and a space that makes you want to return. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top-notch Middle Eastern/Gulf cuisine in Vienna. I’ll...
