update I left 5 stars since I didn’t want to hurt the business. But after seeing other people comment about the customer service, and the fact that they never responded to my review, I am lowering it to 1 star. changed it to 4 stars since they responded
Upon walking in there were total 5 people behind the countertop. 2 sitting on the counter, 2 standing, and 1 standing at the kiosk. Every single one of them were deeply locked into their phones. now I really don't care be on your phone but at least when customers walk in, promptly put it down and greet us, or smile or something. Because when you're on your phone in a customer service environment it gives the impression that you do not want to be there, so why would I feel like I want to be there if that's the vibe in the room?
Anyways person taking orders was very kind very nice, no complaints, this is more towards the other staff, it's just not professional. - but here's the kicker I would have never left this review if that same energy didn't go further, when our drinks and basbousa were ready, nobody called out my name.
What is the point of asking for my name? We're just standing there looking at the drinks not sure if it's ours, or someone else's, especially with 5 people behind the counter I kinda expected more.
So I grabbed the drinks turned the labels confirmed it was my name and went on my way. Was never told have a nice day or anything, 5 people behind the counter, in a customer facing environment that's the least.
We go to these smaller home grown cafes for the experience, if I wanted a bad experience with service I would've gone to shotted. Without the customer service aspect there's no difference between this environment and a chain coffee shop. Please just focus on greeting, and smiling, and overall making it a good experience for the customer, because we can all name a pretentious coffee shop, there's too many to list, I really had hoped Qamaria wasn't one of them but unfortunately I got that vibe.
I leave 5 stars because I do not like hating on local businesses, and I don't want to lower your rating, Wallahi this shows I care...

Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Shop has been on my coffee radar for at least six months. The wild thing is I didn’t realize it was down the street from a couple of my favorite hang outs in Vienna, VA. While waiting for my cortado I realized I have not done a coffee trail in Vienna so that will definitely be coming up soon.
I was originally drawn to Qamaria because of the beautiful woman on their captivating mural. The mural is impossible to miss because the woman’s intricate headdress and the colors used. The contrast of light natural wood and the black chairs makes the shop look minimalist yet exquisite. The shop is bright and there is plenty of seating in the front and the back of the shop. Qamaria sits on one of Vienna’s main streets, Maple Avenue W., in the middle of a strip mall. You may not find parking on Maple Avenue so drive to the back and you’ll discover a large parking lot with easy access to the shop.
Now for the most important part, Qamaria’s coffee. The cortado was delicious. The moment I was handed my cup I could tell the cortado would have a velvety texture; which is a characteristic I am always looking for in one. This was my first time drinking and learning about Yemeni coffee. I look forward to exploring Yemeni coffee more in the future. The baristas were all very friendly even though they were very busy.

Read moreOk, wow! LOVE THIS PLACE! A wonderful addition to the Vienna tea and coffee scene. We went only 3 days after opening and everything seemed to be going smoothly, against all odds. I was welcomed warmly and got a rundown of the highlights on the menu. I said I wanted something hot, not too sweet, with coffee, and the barista recommended the Qamaria Latte or the Mufawaar. I went with the Qamari Latte, which is a double shot of espresso + steamed milk with cardamom and cinnamon and absolutely loved it. Looooved it. Will come back to get this again and again.
He also said the Adeni tea was their most popular thing on the whole menu, and I said I'd come back and try it next time, but he ended up giving us some on the house so we could try it! It's black tea with cream and cardamom. My husband, who is not a big coffee or tea guy, loooved the tea and declared that this is now his favorite coffee shop. High praise lol. My husband also got the hibiscus refresher and was surprised how much he liked it!
Food wise, they have a selection of pastries from Fresh Baguette (one of my faves!) and milk cakes that they source locally. We tried the pistachio and it was sooooo moist and not overly sweet. Super delicious. They also have rose, caramel, and oreo.
There's plentiful seating and the music wasn't too loud. Can't wait to come...
