Blaze Pizza Viera, 2348 Citadel Way, Suite 101, Melbourne, Florida 32940- 4-Stars (Chain Restaurant Rating)
Never have I walked into a restaurant expecting the worst and receiving the best. Blaze Pizza Viera is packed. Families with small children fill every table, giving me PTSD flashbacks to being trapped at interminable Chuck E Cheese birthday parties. I freeze in anabiosis, but quickly come back to life when I realize that this is where the comparison ends. Blaze Pizza's motto is "Intelligent Choices for our Pizzas, People, and Planet." Their commitment to fresh, never frozen, ingredients without chemicals, additives, nitrates, artificial colors, or preservatives shines through in the flavor, texture, and quality of every item on the menu. Do you need vegan cheese or gluten free, cauliflower, or keto crust? They have it. They feature a Keto Pizza, a Protein Pizza, a Vegetarian Pizza, a Vegan Pizza. Do you care about the environment? This place is committed to eco-friendly packaging that is recyclable, compostable, and/or made from post-consumer reclaimed materials. This is pizza for the 21st Century.
Although you find the same ingredient line at Pizza@, the quality, freshness, and taste of the ingredients at Blaze are far superior. On the one hand, I feel like I am a kid back in the day going through the line at Morrisons or the Piccadilly picking out whatever I desire, but this is pizza and salad, and it is fun and superb.
I chose a Caprese Salad, which was plentiful and tangy, with fresh and piquant mozzarella and perfectly fresh tomatoes. I combined this with an order of the Cheesy Bread and the light fluffy dough was a pleasure to eat.
As for pizza, I chose the 11-inch Simple Pie and that is what it was, a delightful cheese pizza with mozzarella, parmesan, and red sauce.
What makes Blaze Pizza at Viera extra special is the local franchise owner. I have never seen someone hustle like this lady hustles. I was so enamored with her work ethic and skill that I forgot her name despite asking for it twice.

Read moreWe have visited this location many times. The gluten free and cauliflower crusts are both very tasty! The finished pizza is timely and tasty. I've always found the staff kind and helpful. And while there are some risks of cross contamination, I have never had a reaction eating here. The pizza preparers always chance gloves and are careful.
EDIT: I can't explain how uneasy I feel with this restaurant now. I am 100% aware that there's not a dedicated preparation area, but they usually do an incredible job with safe prep and I've never had a problem there with cross-contamination. I acknowledge and accept the risk based upon their methods when used properly.
After my normal order and glove change request, I noticed what looked like flower on the cooking pad. When I asked about it, I was told "that's what it looks like." The worker had this half smile as I tried to explain that it was a food allergy and this was important. The preparer did change gloves and my pizza came out well.
Afterward my partner told me the worker who laid out the board, the cooking pad, and the crust had not changed their gloves. I didn't notice because I was concerned about what looked like flower. I don't know what they might have been handling. I stopped eating when I was told that. I've never had this happen at Blaze before.
We normally go on a Friday night. This was a Wednesday night, so a different crew. We didn't recognize anybody working behind the counter. The Friday crew is always kind, helpful, and professional. Maybe some training is needed. I don't know if I'll be going back on Fridays but I will not be going back on Wednesdays. The one worker in particular was extraordinarily unprofessional.
The disappointment is there are only a handful of restaurants I can visit. We enjoy this one but now I cannot trust it because I do not know if I can trust the people working there to prepare my food as safely...
Read moreFood and service was awful, Dec. 2024.12/23 Angela at blaze Pizza to provide a refund… She said if I don’t see you by Friday, to please call her back! 1/3/25-Blaze pizza asst manager, Jessilyn- says refund never got put through, sending pizza coupons, bc now can’t refund. Nothing received. 1/17/25 Jessilyn, apologetic, and says that she talked to the manager of the store and he’s going to mail the coupons from his own mailbox at home… And she’s sending more than two because of the inconvenience. Nothing received.I called and was Told on 2/3/25 jessilynn went on maternity leave. No manager available. Spoke with Kevin (manager) on 2/4/25-mailing 4 coupons in next few days. He was incredibly rude because he obviously thought I was someone else and wouldn’t let me speak. I had to get a little aggressive and tell him to let me talk then he realized I was not the person he thought I was because he kept saying he already talked to me… turns out he was talking about someone named Mrs. Walker! But he’s just rude from the beginning of the call. As of 3/15/25- No coupons ever received. We won’t ever return to this establishment. It is now 9/10/25, I have finally written this review, well copied and pasted from my notes. Never received a thing from this place. Received bad service in the restaurant, an inedible pizza, And then bad customer service on the follow up with all managers involved. I will never return to this location and I do not recommend them. The manager Kevin pretty much yelled at me on that phone call and as a previously stated, I wasn’t even the person that he thought I was. Even if I was, yelling at a customer, the way he was talking to me, is disgusting. Beware...
