Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Vincennes

We just got seated and our waitress came over and took our drink order and asked if we were ready to order. We said no give us some time. We had just picked up the menus. About 2 minutes later, before we got our drinks, she asked again. We were still reading the menu. Then our drinks came and she asked again. We had not put the menus down yet. We told her give us a few more minutes. Then it was like 10 minutes later she returned and took our order. She gave us appetizer plates which were dirty. I pointed it out quickly. Went through 4 plates before finally getting a clean plate. I began to wonder about the cleanliness of the plate our food was coming on. Our appetizer came quickly and was good. Unfortunately our meal came right after the appetizer. I dont like my food coming that close to the appetizer. You either let your food get cold while you eat the appetizer or you dont eat the appetizer. The server dropped the plates and ran. I had fries and no ketchup. I was half way finished before our waitress came over to check on us. Then I finally got ketchup. She asked if we wanted dessert when she set the ketchup down. I told her I didn't know yet, I was still eating. Then a few minutes later she asked if we had decided or if we needed to go boxes. We were still eating. My husband had only eaten half of his grilled chicken and potato. I said no we were still eating. She then brought us our ticket. We felt very rushed. I ordered the small rib let dinner. It was a full size meal so I couldn't eat it all. My husband ordered the grilled chicken with a baked potato. The chicken was burnt and dry. The potato was not cooked all the way. We do not eat there very often because we have gotten bad service or food every time. We only went this time because we had...

I decided to mix it up and eat at Applebee's for dinner. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger deal that is currently being advertised on television. The sandwich was good. It was nice and hot when I got it.

The service left something to be desired, especially in this day and age where everyone thinks they're entitled to big tips. Alana was my server. She was nice enough when she took my order, but another gal brought me my food. Alana never checked on me to see if my food was alright or not. Heck, she never stopped by my table again until after I was finished eating. That's unfortunate, because I would have left a better tip if she had actually checked on me.

I always see waiters and waitresses complain about getting poor or bad tips. Remember, you earn your tip. You're not entitled to it. When you ignore your tables then get either no tip or just a few dollars, you guys complain. Just remember that you probably did it to yourself. Just because I'm by myself a lot doesn't mean that I don't tip well. I typically give 40+ percent tips if I'm well taken care of. When don't take good care of me, I leave $1-$2.

We stopped by Applebee's to have a special meal since we do not go out as much as we used to. We always love Applebee's! They never disappoint when it comes to there food and drinks 💚 We had a Burger and a chicken salad as well as a couple Perfect Margaritas. Everything was very delicious as usual 😋 our server was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. It came time for the bill and we was already prepared for the price change so that was no surprise. My card sends me a message when it is used as soon as I use it & I normally check it as soon as the text comes in. This time I waited until I stopped by the gas station after we left. I was very disappointed to find out that I was charged $58 when my bill was $48. I never tip on my card, I like them to get cash for their tip. I also always leave the tip line blank on my receipt since I do tip in cash( in which I will never do again). I didn't call and complain since I support everyone who wants to work and I didn't want to cause them any problems, I just took it as a lesson learned.
