We arrived for a 3 night stay for spring break on 3/25/21 With 4 children in tow for a total party of 7, we booked this hotel for it's indoor pool and free breakfast. Lets talk about the bad .... of which there is far more of than good: The pool is tiny ..... the photos are extremely deceptive. the whole pool room is probably 20x40 ft. So 400 sq Feet give or take 50 foot or so. We counted 38 people in the room at one time when we walked into it to allow the kids to swim. We then walked back out. Basically my kids did not get to use that indoor pool during our down time. The pool, chairs, and hot tub combined have a reasonable capacity at what i would called cramped at maybe 20-25 people. The pool also closes at 8 now for covid reasons, but at 10 normally. Why even close an indoor pool at all?! There's no lifeguard being paid. Closing for an hour a day for cleaning makes sense ..... but if you aren't paying a lifeguard, and you aren't enforcing any kind of occupancy limits, leave it open. There were several night after dinner and travel back to the hotel where it was either loaded to the gills or 15 minutes past closing and we were not able to tire that last little bit of energy out of the kiddos. The rooms with a king and a couch only have sliding doors on the bedrooms and the bathrooms. the barn style ...with no locks. Me and the missus were not able to be adults or use the restroom in peace as the doors don't lock. Breakfast was a "best we can do" kind of thing because of Covid, but I believe its more of a "minimum to get by" Jimmy dean biscuits you heat in your room microwave, some pastries, and some cereal. I understand you cant have a full buffet at the moment, but you can at least do some waffles or eggs to order or precooked, and have some sausage and bacon in a hot pan to hand out on plates... or anything hot really. You could make the buffet still and then just have a staff member or two be the hands that gives it out like restaurants are doing (cafeteria style) Breakfast, a reason why we stayed here, was one of the main reasons we were not excited about our stay. we'd of happily waited for something more substantial that is included in what I would consider a high nightly rate. Parking is 12 dollars a night. Why am I paying 12 dollars a night to park at a hotel that I'm already paying to stay at? I have no idea. It is across from a civic theatre so I could see charging them 12 dollars for those visitors, but not your guests. Its a lot with a gate arm, not a covered garage or valet service. You get like 2 towels per room even after being asked how many people are staying in said room. Its got like these little half pillows for the bed. They sucked really bad, I'd like a big boy pillow please. TV service is spotty at best, we had one TV that wouldn't stay on. They use some sort of ancient internet that won't let anything without a browser connect to it. (you can forget your kid's Nintendo switches working) Let's talk about the good: Good location, lot's nearby, easy interstate access. Front Desk staff was excellent Rooms were clean Goodie bag with some snacks and a drink when we checked in. Over all very quiet Overall it ended up being a mediocre place to lay our heads, and that's about it. But with all the deficiencies we will seek other arrangements next time we...
Read moreI am such a huge fan of the Hilton brands specifically, the Embassy Suites. Sadly, I did not fully enjoy my first 24 hours here.
Prior to the arrival there was some sort of a battle via phone to get clarity on an early check in. I was told to "wait for my mobile key." The AM agent was not clear and sort of had a negative way/tone of "educating" me.
Upon arrival, the AM desk agent & housekeeping supervisor spoke freely about another guest and the condition of their room. Prolonging time for the agent to greet me. I did not receive a "Welcome" until after their conversation. I did mention, I was here to visit but also worked for the Marriott/Hilton brands and other management groups in NYC and was happy to stay here.
I did revisited the conversation we had over the phone, I was then told, "We did not ask the right questions for the right answers" with a smirk from the AM agent. Huge WOW. The agent did not care about our Hilton status, my reason of being here and my personal profession.
The room is ready! I returned back to the desk, was provided keys and no further details about my stay- breakfast, complimentary drinks in the evening and Wifi info. I just asked.
**The room and upgrade was nice. Large room space and available parking. Bathroom tub was chipped and the carpet had a few tears. Sink leaked a bit. I asked the housekeeper supervisor for her lint brush and will return it. She was hesitate and stated, "she cannot wait for me to use it" Ha! I said it'll be two minutes, I can leave it at the door" but WOW. She agreed.
I did visit the evening event and stood in a long line. When I approached the bar, I was asked about two coupons. I did not have any and had to return back to the front desk. I received the coupons and returned back to the bar. I waited in line again. The server was nice and found a bottle, I asked for prior. :) I wasted so much time, we did not enjoy the drinks after all. We had dinner reservations.
Next morning, I called for breakfast hours. Missed breakfast! No one answered the calls to front desk nor restaurant. I called from my mobile phone and the agent was available to provide me the breakfast hours. I went out for breakfast instead.
On my next trip to Atlanta, I will rethink my stay somewhere else. It's more of the staff and not the location. Staff professionalism did not meet the Hilton Standard. Ladies at the desk, did not smile. No one seem proud of their work and not interactive. You get the check in/laugh a bit and go to your room vibe. Please visit our NYC/NJ properties and see how we set the...
Read moreThe front desk staff was incredibly friendly which warranted a star. Otherwise, this would have been a solid one-star rating. If I were not a Hilton Honors member or otherwise unfamiliar with the Embassy Suites brand, nobody could tell me that this hotel was part of the other Hilton properties that I have stayed at. The room (223-I believe) was horrible. The bathroom was noteworthy due to the filthy tub, no water pressure, the rusted exhaust fan housing that contained no fan, and a message that had been written on the mirror which was an obvious indicator that at least the bathroom had not been cleaned prior to our stay, which led us to wonder what else hadn't been cleaned considering the state of everything else in there. There was also mildew on the caulking in the bathroom and the wallpaper was peeling off. Needless to say, our bathroom as well as the room was not even close to the rooms that they used for pictures of the hotel on the Hilton app. The bedroom area looked "lazy". The molding looked as though someone had gone over it once with a dark color and too small of a paintbrush. There were parts above the molding that looked as though they may have used some type of filler between the molding and the ceiling to close gaps. There was a can light over the wet bar area that was wedged in at an angle so it wouldn't fall. The return register in the front sitting area had a white substance on the dark paint surrounding it. There was a bar for a sliding barn door to separate the bedroom from the sitting area, but the door was missing. The lights in between the beds were installed on the wall and weren't even installed in a way that hid whatever bolts were already in the wall. There were spots in the carpet that were worn to the point that there were bare spots and last but surely not least, as we were getting ready to leave, we noticed a stain on the ottoman in the sitting area. Initially, I thought that somebody may have spilled some sort of chocolate or something of that nature. But as I got close to the white fabric, I realized that it was red in color. I obviously wasn't going to get closer to see any better. I posted pictures of all of this, but can't find them so who knows if they actually posted? Either way, I still have the pictures should the hotel care to chat about the sad state of our room. We were grateful that we were only there to sleep for two nights after incredibly long days. This hotel was by far the biggest disappointment of any Embassy Suites brand and Hilton hotel that I have ever...
