I just had an incredibly disappointing experience with Top Spice, and I feel compelled to share my dissatisfaction with their abysmal customer service. From the dry, flavorless pork to the complete lack of effort in rectifying their mistake, it was an evening of frustration and disappointment.

Firstly, the pork dish I ordered was beyond disappointing. It was so dry and tasteless that I could hardly distinguish it from chicken. The lack of flavor was truly disheartening, leaving me questioning the quality of their ingredients and the competence of their kitchen staff.

Hoping to find a solution and some form of compensation for the unpleasant food take-out experience, I decided to reach out to Top Spice via phone. Unfortunately, my interaction with their representative only added to my frustration. The person on the phone displayed zero willingness to go out of their way to make up for the error. Their dismissive attitude and lack of empathy were deeply off-putting.

What bothered me even more was the fact that there was not even an attempt made to help fix the issue this very night. I understand that mistakes happen, but a reputable establishment should be proactive in finding a resolution to ensure customer satisfaction. It was disheartening to encounter such indifference and a complete lack of effort on their part.

As a customer, I believe that it is not only fair but essential for businesses to take responsibility for their mistakes and make sincere efforts to rectify them. Sadly, Top Spice failed miserably in this regard. Their customer service left a sour taste in my mouth, overshadowing any redeeming qualities they may have had.

I highly discourage anyone from dining at Top Spice, especially if you value good customer service and quality food. The dry and tasteless pork coupled with the lack of effort to address the issue has left me deeply disappointed. There are plenty of other establishments in the area that offer better food and genuinely care about their customers' satisfaction.

In conclusion, Top Spice's poor customer service and the lack of effort to rectify their mistakes make it a place I cannot recommend. Save yourself the disappointment and frustration by choosing an alternative dining option that values its customers' experiences and strives...

THE WORST THAI FOOD EVER!!!! It’s Americanized and not authentic at all! It use to be back in the day but idk what happened. I use to order food from here often, and I was satisfied with this ordinary Thai food when I’m at work, on Friday march 22nd, I ordered delivery and i understand sometimes delivery lessens the foods taste. I don’t ever usually complain if it’s edible but I was working that day and me and my colleague were hungry, but we spent almost $100 for 4 items and the dishes we ordered were absolutely disgusting. I ordered the lad-na chicken, it tasted like ketchup and the color of the food was off, the noodles were clumped together and the sauce on one side of the bowl, the Thai spring rolls were disgusting, tasted like they were fried in OLD oil and came with unauthentic fake sweet and sour sauce when they promoted a sweet chili sauce, the spicy flat noodles was sweet and not at all spicy, it wasn’t even mild. Each vegetable inside this dish had a different taste as if it were prepared separately with different seasonings, And the roti murtabak was mid. Very mid. Way too oily but it was the only thing that was edible. I called and complained looking for a refund, but the manager wasn’t in and I had left my number with the hostess because she told me the manager would give me a call back. It’s now MONDAY March 22nd and he has yet to call. I called again recently and was told the manager was out. But since I told them I would personally go up to the restaurant myself, he is supposedly on a break will call back at 6pm today. I am waiting for 6pm.

Update. I called back because the manager didn’t want to call me. He was very rude and unprofessional. He did not want to help and said that he didn’t call back because he didn’t want to waste his time and it’s not his fault that I did not like the food. He told me to stop calling and he refuses to give my money back. Then he would not let me talk and then just hung...

My first experience with Top Spice was excellent. I really can't find anything to complain about.

Food: I ordered off of the Malaysian Chef's menu. I tried the Honey Butter Shrimp, which is lightly fried shrimp with diced peppers and onion in a honey butter sauce with broccoli. It was incredibly good. The flavor of the sauce was wonderful - it was sweet and buttery, with the diced peppers gave it just a slight amount of spicy that complemented the dish perfectly. The shrimp were fried just right as well. The portion was just right for me, though I do have a healthy appetite. Not only that, but when it came out the presentation was absolutely beautiful.

Environment: The decor is what you would expect at a nice Asian restaurant. A little modern, but that's how such places tend to be in my experience. The lighting was low, but not too low. Recorded piano music was playing at just the right volume, giving an air of class. This is definitely somewhere good to go for a nice romantic evening.

Service: My waiter was courteous and helpful. He met all my needs, but never became a bother. I will note that I went at 5PM on Labor Day, and the only other customers were one couple who seemed to be enjoying themselves, but I doubt the level of service goes down too much when it's more crowded.

Cost: Thai restaurants tend to cost more than Chinese restaurants, and this one is no exception. Dinner for two will probably run you anywhere from $40-$100 depending on whether you get appetizers and alcoholic drinks. Still, given the quality of everything I experienced, I don't think it's overpriced.

So the final word is I'll definitely be going back, and I definitely...

How this place isn't rated higher than it is, I don't understand. I guess this might directly tie to notable differences in locations, menus, dish selected, or day of week as much as experiences with this cuisine. Here's the short recap of my experience at the Akers Mill location: I came, I saw, I ate, and enjoyed - even the leftovers eaten cold the next day. I will be back. Now for more detail. Impressions: Decor and ambiance - Aside from the fabric design choice for the backs of the booths, I loved the decor, from the entry doors and the design all through the place. And it smelled fantastic in the foyer. It was a Monday evening so it was fairly quiet though not completely dead as far as diners present. (There was a steady flow of take-out/food delivery.) The ambuent music choice was interesting. It was all piano music, sounding like it came from the same or similar artist. But it was a mix of movie theme songs, the Disney theme song, some soft popular music, and hymns/classic Christian music standards. 🤔😅 The customer service was great and the presentation of the food was impeccable. The flavor did not disappoint, fully living up to the visual hype. The dish I had was the Buah Mango Tofu dish from the vegetarian side of the menu. This consists of tofu and mango spears sauteed with sliced bell peppers in a mildly spicy sweet and sour sauce set on a bed of a type of rice noodle and a halved mango.

With such few dependable Thai spots in my area, Top Spice is aptly named since it's one of my top choices for dining in and takeout/delivery, especially their flat noodle dishes. The pad see ew is always well seasoned, and the spicy flat noodle tofu dish is a beautiful rendition with the slightest kick. I've come to know my favorites from the menu, but that wasn't without encountering a few misses along the way. A delivery order of beef rendang had a delicious curry sauce coating some of the toughest pieces of beef. Another tofu pad thai was overly sauced and salty, rendering it nearly inedible. My husband and I almost never send food back to the kitchen, but we made an exception that time. Inside, the restaurant is more muted and serene than it looks from the outside. Service has always been polite and attentive when I've gone, though I've noticed how busy things can get around the busy mealtime hours when they're handling both takeout orders and customers dining in.

Eating dinner tonight and order a dish Spicy Tofu with a basil sauce that was supposed to be fried tofu with a basil sauce. I asked the waiter if there was a mistake with my order because I did not taste any basil in the sauce nor did I see any basil. The waiter argued with me for over 20 minutes due to me asking if I could have either some basil added to my dish or make some more sauce adding the basil. He blatantly refused to make my dish better and told me nothing could or would be corrected. I asked him was he the cook and he said no. I finally told him that I was not going to continue to argue with him…. And he walked away. 15 minutes later the waiter walks over to my table with a little saucer with basil on it. The service was horrible non attentive… springs rolls were cold but my sister and I noticed how other guests were being served on time and with the promptness! Need I say more as I can say it was not many African Americans guests in the restaurant tonight.
