Roosters — Restaurant in Violet Township

I’m a long time roosters customer always have had great service at multiple locations for this company. However my family and I visited the pickerington location on Friday even 01/15/2021. I order a margarita and I asked for a second my waitress,” said I’m last call was at 9:15pm I looked and it was 9:17pm. About 15 minutes went by and one of the customers at the bar asked for a drink. And the bartender said it was last call 15 minutes ago well the Manager who was sitting with customers said go ahead and make it. Bartender then said are you sure last call was about 15mins ago. Manager says yes it’s fine I’m approving it. Now the girl who had order the drink was be loud and telling everyone how she works here and to put her bill with Dan’s bill. My issue isn’t that last call was at 915pm. It’s a company rule and I understand completely. My issues are these 2 lady’s are making exceptions for regular customers and employees. And these employees are a Representation of the company regardless if clocked or not. Since they were being super loud and making it known to everybody that they work there and the manager was blatantly working on manager items at the bar as sitting with customers. When I asked my waitress about the situation. She said I’m sorry and I find out. She pulled the manager who was involved aside and asked her about. What does that manager do she walks back to the table and tells everyone about the conversation, while me and my husband are sitting right behind them. So now we are trying to enjoy our dinner and we are being made to feel uncomfortable, because I asked a question. Rude comments are being made The rest of our time and loud enough so we can hear them. And we are being stared at the whole time we are eating. This roosters is our go-to location since moving out east. We used to visit the Hilliard and Polaris locations regularly before moving so this one had big shoes to fill. Service is generally good, sometimes a little hit or miss but overall good. The food is generally excellent and spot on. This location suffers from a similar issue the others do in that wing sauce tends to get skimpy during peak times. When I visit on a Tuesday for lunch and order my chicken of choice "wet" it shows up in a swimming pool of sauce but the same order on a weekend tends to be dry, like if a piece of chicken fell on your pants there wouldn't be anything to stain kind of dry.

Overall, it's easier to get into this location than others. Parking is much more plentiful than some locations. It's clean and typically well staffed. Food, outside skimping on the sauce during peak times is excellent. My family is super picky and has incredible trouble finding a place everyone agrees on but roosters never gets any groans or moans. Prices are reasonable and much to my delight, they serve pitchers of beer so even during the busiest times I'm not stressing over where my refill is.

Even with a flaw or two, roosters is by far the closest thing to the perfect restaurant for my family without spending twice as much elsewhere and by far has the most consistent service levels. Kudos to the staff and management! We went on a Friday night after a football game with a party of 6, it was packed with a wait outside as well. We were told our wait would be 30 min, we ended up getting seated in 15 since we chose back to back tables. Our waitress came right away and was super patient with us and extremely calm and friendly considering how crowded it was. I knew when we went in and it was that crowded it would probably be a little longer to get our food and it was, the kitchen had to be just slammed and with the shortage on workers everywhere. Our waitress continued to check on us and apologize for the wait. Our food arrived and was hot. Thats all I really expected. When our bill came our waitress informed us that they had discounted our bill because of the wait. I didn't expect that but was very appreciative! We will definitely return not because of the discount but because the staff and management did a fantastic job taking care of us as customers. Whomever is running the show there is doing an amazing job! What a way to take care of your customers!
