Cavalier Beach Club — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

The hotel, scenery, and overall atmosphere are stunning. However, the service is unbearably slow (45 min standing at bar to get a drink), the maitre d really tries including multiple failed attempts to get a server to assist us, we gave up and went to the bar - which is the slowest I've ever seen.

The clientele varies from elegant, classy, and kind to obnoxious, rude, and aggressive - multiple accounts of women being catty in the bathroom. I am not sure if the environment lends itself to people having an inflated sense of entitlement or what....but beware.

The bartender with the lip piercings ask another group if they would like their drinks on my husbands tab without us knowing and when we got our receipts we told her that our total amount wasn’t correct she tried to argue with the other group as to why she put them on our tab and had a very nasty attitude with us and the other group and slammed our receipt and the other group receipts on the counter but she can hand other people their receipts with no problem and we never said anything rude to her. I’m not sure what her attitude is about but she should learn to not being nasty...

Very disappointed with the service this year. We Stay at the cavalier every year for 4th of July, and eat all our lunches and get drinks through the day at the beach club. Had a not so pleasant experience with one of the servers, Isabella, who charged us extra for condiments and for the wrong meals and disappeared after we after we asked about it and didn't do anything when we wanted to have the bill adjusted. Hate to complain about a few bucks but it's the principle! Most of the staff is very friendly and the food is good...
