Sunsations — Local services in Virginia Beach

I have been to some Sunsations and other stores like it down in the Outer Banks. Knew exactly what we are getting into when we went to the store however were surprised at how clean the store was and well-maintained. But still plenty of things in the windows that are sun bleached and when you walk in right in the front are the hermit crabs. However there is a very large variety of t-shirts and magnets and other stuff that you can buy it is a tourist trap it is a souvenir shop but that's what it's meant to be. You can get a lot of things for the beach here as well. Turns out there's a lot of these types of stores along the strip however this one is very clean and the staff are also wearing masks and people in the store are as well definitely felt safe in the store for...

I wish I could rate 0 stars a thousand times!!! Went in this evening to look for a bathing suit. Found a ton on the half off rack. Went to check out and was charged full price then told very rudely that I didn’t know what I was talking about and that they were misplaced. Then was told all sales were final when I said I didn’t want anything, only offered to give me cash from the drawer when I threatened to make a scene!!! This was all done by the manager...absolutely awful experience!!! Will never go to this location ever again. On top of that we asked another employee on our way out what she recommended for ice cream and she didn’t know anything about the area at all. Could make absolutely no recommendations and didn’t speak very good English. All around...

Sunsations was hands down the best gift shop we visited in Virginia Beach! If we had found it first, we probably wouldn’t have shopped anywhere else. They have locations at beaches all across the country, and it's become our go-to spot for souvenir shopping.

We especially loved their matching Miami-wear branded outfits, and the buy-2-get-1-free deals made it easy to stock up on gifts. The store manager was amazing—she patiently answered all my (many!) questions and even threw in a few freebies, which was such a kind touch.

Their magnet section was huge—a dream for any collector—and they had just about every Virginia Beach-branded item you could imagine. I highly recommend making this your first stop when shopping...
