I was excited to try this place but I won't be returning. The parking garage was full around 5pm when we got there but luckily we ubered. Walk past the embassy suites entrance, then walk through their pool area and you'll see a little spot known as tacos n tequila. It's first come first serve and it's extremely small there. There are seats by the bar and roughly 9-10 tables. My waitress, Kylee, told us that it was not suppose to be a "restaurant" originally just a bar and food service to go, that's why the kitchen was so small. She brought us our waters, and took our orders for drinks promptly as we waited for our other guests to arrive. We ordered two jumbo skinny margaritas and I asked what the tequila was that came, she said she wasn't sure (but it was a house). We asked to sub for casamigos which we knew would be an up charge but usually servers announce how much the up charge is- she did not. It was $17 on top of the $17 margarita …. so $34 for a margarita in a plastic cup…..but at the end of the day I would have still liked to be told how much it would be. For food, We ordered tacos: one grouper fried, one seared, and one shrimp. The tacos were surprisingly good, the chips and salsa I didn't care for. I'll start with some negatives before I end with the positives. So negatives: the service needs a bit of work. I never got my water refilled so I took from two other waters at our table before she finally came and gave us an extra water after one of our guests ordered another water. We ordered salt with our margaritas but it only came once with our drinks, usually servers ask based on your previous or first order. We asked for our check but she completely forgot and we had to ask again. Lastly, the thing that myself and other patrons sitting at a table next to us found interesting is that for how expensive our margaritas were, everyone had plastic cups BUT the large group close to us had glassware for their margaritas. I understand why they have plastic cups because Tulu, Cav beach club all have the same policy. But when asked if we could have glassware since the other table did, she said they do not have any and it was because it was Bruce Thompson and everyone has to pull out all of the stops for him and make it as nice as possible. They checked on his table multiple times but no one else. If you put your name on the restaurant, you should stand behind it and should be served exactly how the rest of your customers are. That did not sit well with me. So positives: the ambiance and people love the views being by the beach (don't be mistaken there was NOT a Mexican band there as I read in a previous review - looks like it was just for opening night) Maybe my hopes were too high for this place and by the end of my time there I was ready to leave. For the prices and service, I'll just keep going to Jessy's or Pelons instead.

Went here for the first time since we heard it opened recently. We came on a Saturday around 5pm. It’s a very cute little “restaurant” with outside seating near the beach with picnic tables and bar tables. We were greeted, I assume, by the owner who said he’d send a waiter/waitress right away. We went and found a bar table with shade to sit under. We waiting for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile a female waitress had saw us sit down but never came to us. She actually got orders from an older couple who sat down AFTER us and she continued to ignore us. I saw a male server and asked him if we can order. He took our order quickly and our food and drinks came very fast. The drinks were good, we had ordered a prickly pear jumbo margarita & they were strong. I got the barbacoa tacos platos and my husband got the chicken tinga tacos platos. We were impressed with the drinks and the food…..once we actually got service. I think our waiter was Jordan and he was very attentive and good. So glad we got him! I am not sure if the other waitress was ignoring us because she had too many tables or whatever the issue was. That’s why I’d give this place 4 stars. I would be happy to come back & try again since I felt everything else was good.

We ate here a few times and were very happy with every aspect of this establishment. Aesthetically, it is beautiful and makes you feel like you are far away from Virginia Beach. The food and drinks were all on point, as were the servers. Dana in particular was so friendly and helpful. A definite asset to the Embassy as was the rest of the staff here. We would definitely visit next time we come back! The street tacos were all tasty and we loved the fact that they are not smothered in ingredients. It is very simple with minimal toppings, which means that the protein needs to be good and quality. The Quesadilla was great and filled. We also loved the rice and beans that came with some of the dishes. I was not a big fan of the street corn, but my wife loved it. It was tasty, but I am not a big mayonnaise fan. Also, shout out to Marleigh and Shelby as well at the bar. Also the gentleman who served us at poolside, but I don't remember his name. All GREAT! Bottom line, if you go the hotel, check this place out!!!

Taco's-N-Teuqila on the Virginia Beach waterfront offers a lively and flavorful escape for those craving Mexican-inspired cuisine with a definite beach twist. It's a solid four-star choice for a fun, casual meal in a vibrant setting, especially if you're a fan of good margaritas. The atmosphere here is a major draw. Situated right on Atlantic Avenue, it boasts an open-air feel that lets you soak in the oceanfront energy. The decor is bright and festive, creating a relaxed, "fiesta" type of vibe that perfectly complements a day at the beach. It's often buzzing with energy, making it a great spot for a social gathering or a lively dinner. When it comes to the food, Taco's-N-Tequila generally delivers. Their tacos are a popular choice, with a good variety of fillings, from classic street-style options to more creative seafood preparations. The portions are usually generous, and the flavors are robust. Beyond tacos, you'll find other Mexican staples like burritos, enchiladas, and nachos, all prepared with fresh ingredients. And, as the name suggests, their tequila selection is extensive, and their margaritas are well-crafted and a definite highlight – perfect for unwinding. The service is typically friendly and attentive. Even during busy periods, the staff works hard to keep things moving and ensure guests feel taken care of. They're usually good about refilling chips and salsa and making recommendations. So, why not five stars? While the food is consistently good and satisfying, it sometimes leans more towards a crowd-pleasing, Americanized Mexican style rather than truly authentic or innovative cuisine. There might be moments where a dish doesn't quite hit that exceptional "wow" factor. Also, due to its popularity and open layout, it can get quite loud, which might not be ideal if you're looking for a quiet conversation. However, for a fun, vibrant, and tasty Mexican meal with excellent margaritas right in the heart of the Virginia Beach oceanfront, Taco's-N-Tequila is an excellent choice. It's a go-to spot for a lively experience and a...

poor customer service from the waiter , it’s like she had an attitude , my son got a juice and was waiting 30 mins for his drink , they eventually forgot about his food and drink ( as well as the rest of the table orders and drinks ) had to take a re order for our food AFTER 45 minutes of waiting because they completely forgot about us , food came out before the appetizers after an hour , appetizers was cold , missing orders , dirty tables we asked the waitress if anyone can wipe down the table or if we can get get a cloth to wipe down the table once we first arrived and we were completely ignored how lovely , no sense of urgency here , juices were watered down no flavor, mojitos & margaritas ? WATERED DOWN , im disappointed in the way we were treated as if we weren’t customers , my family & i had to go to another place to get food , this place NEEDS more STAFFING , BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE, we weren’t given any type of utensils giving to eat our food or drink our drinks , it’s a really nice place and the idea of it is cute HOWEVER far as experience or recommendations i wouldn’t tell anyone to come here & first experience speaks volumes , i wouldn’t come back here at all , the owner needs to come up with a plan to better their establishment for their paying customers as well as finding...
