This place is utterly fantastic. A throwback to 1950s chic, with just enough of a modern flare. Red and chrome comfy booths table tables throughout and an extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff about their varied menu. Very true is just a burger and custard joint, but they do offer awesome chicken fingers too.
The burgers are completely made to order, you order at the counter, you get a number then listen for your number. Served on bright red trays and bright red baskets, the place is great. They have these French fries that are so good. They are about half width of a McD fry, but some can get crazy long. They are crispy and have just enough potato flavor to remind you "this is how fries should be."
I am an onion ring fan, being from Jersey, and these are close but not identical to Jersey diner onion rings. They aren't the Sonics ones or the Red Robin ones and nothing like Burger King ones. They are a batter dipped then fried. Check the pics.
Now for the burgers. Very close to a smash burger but not quite. A good amount of meat, flavorful, with just a little of the crispness a slider or smash burger gets, but not really thin. They have about a dozen different varieties of burgers you can add and subtract from and I would take one of these over Five Guys any day of the week. They also have hot dogs, kids meals, yater tots, cheese fries, and even have a mini size shake for the super full adult or the child that was exceptionally well behavedđ.
I have included some photos, including the menu. I hate being surprised when I go into a new place. It's near mall so it's close enough to 264 to stop by one night in the way back from the beach, or just be naughty and go there only for the custard and cheese fries! Date night, family night, no matter.
Jeremy is one of the operating managers and a pure delight to speak with. We need to support this restaurant as it's not a cookie cutter fast food joint. They take pride in their product and...
Read moreMy husband and I took our triplets here for dinner yesterday. We don't go out alot because our son's have special needs and crowds can stress them out. We chose to go for a early dinner and the restaurant was pretty quiet. We placed our order but when my husband tried to pay the card reader was "Processing" for well over a minute then declined the card. We tried it again then I checked my banking app to be extra sure it wasn't something with my bank. As I assumed it was the card reader system as our account was fine. I asked the cashier (She was super sweet and patient with us while we picked out our food and decided what would work best for our kiddos meals) if we could try another reader (I planned on running to the atm at the gas station if needed) Another employee walked up and noticed the issue as well as that our sons were getting upset (They are almost 5 but are disabled and don't always understand things like why they need to wait ) I am assuming he was a manager as he asked the cashier to let him know once she got all of our order put back in again. After that he came over and comped our entire order. Taking our boys out for a meal can be a challenge, we try to make sure everything will go smooth to avoid meltdowns. I was worried about the scene if we had to leave to go to an atm and come back so this was just a super kind gesture which im sure he had no idea took a bit of stress and anxiety out of our evening. The food was great, the restaurant was extremely clean and all the staff well trained and kind. We will be back in the...
Read moreI ordered Freddyâs via door dash Monday. (I highly advise against this) When it arrived the drink was in the bag and had spilled all over everything making it not edible. I contacted door dash and Freddys. The manager called me back within minutes during busy lunch time. He was incredibly sorry for the experience and explained the policy of drink cups in the bag is that of DoorDash, and they also didnât care for jt. (So if you really have to do DoorDash use the notes section to mention bagging drink separately if possible) He refunded the meal and offered to have one delivered to me, my schedule didnât allow for that. He then offered a meal for me the next day. Today I went in since I was in the area. The staff and management were great. He again apologized (and it was a sincere not customer service eh one). I just wanted a basic burger but he insisted it be upgraded to full meal and concrete for dessert. While itâs being made I could hear the workings of the kitchen and it was a very encouraging upbeat atmosphere back there. He was working with staff motivating and joking with them as they worked. Now Iâve had the food before at my previous residence area so I was already familiar with it. The burgers and fries are hands down my favorite. Way less greasy than other chain places and fresher taste. The custard is always good and you can customize one or order pre made creations. If you havenât eaten hereâŚ. I feel sorry for you, you have missed out. Overall very impressed with how this location...
