I am writing this review several months after my initial review. In my intial review I gave this restaurant 5 stars. My daughter and I went to this Yummy Sushi restaurant several times within the past year and a half because we loved the food, the restaurant and the ambiance.
But for some unknown reason we did not have the same wonderful experience the last 4 times. We thought maybe they were just having a bad month. But that was not the case. The waiters were not kind. Each time we went in there from our initial first few visits we did not see a lot of people in the restaurant...but service was slow. It felt like we had to beg to get the waiter's attention. We would raise our hand and it felt like the waiters intentionally ignored us. When we finally received some attention the staff seemed bothered by us. Finally we had the opportunity to put in our orders and we're served. Each visit we were happy to at least receive our order but than the food was tasteless. I do not understand why. What happened? We tried and tried to make excuses for the tasteless food and the bad staff service...thinking it would get better. We loved the place...we used to come here for mother/daughter day to hang out because it was so nice.. But not anymore. My daughter and I will be looking to visit the other Yummy Sushi that is located about 15 minutes away. We will not be returning...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful experience. We did not have to wait for a table. The staff was very attentive. The food was quickly served and hot. $26.95 epr adult for all you can eat dinner.
The food: Beef short rib - so this was incredible. It was so good I forgot to take a picture at first. The meat is grilled to perfection with a yummy, sweet teriyaki sauce. Definitely try this! -Tuna sashimi - absolutely delicious. Especially dipped in the gyoza dumpling sauce. -gyoza dumplings - very crispy and stuffed full. Yummy shumai dumplings - new thing for me and I was not disappointed. They are not crispy like the gyoza spring roll - Crisp and delicious chicken fried rice - good buck lacked flavor. Was better when I added the dumpling sauce yakisoba noodles - again lacking flavor. Full of veggies and chicken but needed something acidic. chicken on a stick - so flavorful and juicy. Definitely try this tuna takaki - it is raw tuna in a slightly spicy sauce with a cucumber salad underneath. Very delicious vegetable tempura - didn't not like at all. This is one of my favorite things at other places. The veggies were mushy, flavorless. There was more tempura than veggie on a couple pieces. House salad - so crispy and cold. The ginger dressing was creamy and delicious. Highly recommend Teriyaki beef - delicious. Love the teriyaki sauce...
Read moreWent on a date here and arrived just before the lunch rush on a weekday. The themed atmosphere was better decorated than most of the other places I've eaten at. The space is large so you don't feel like you're sitting back to back with others while still having a good view of the chefs. It's also worth noting that there are multiple TVs inside for different entertainment preferences. Cleanliness was great and our waitress didn't have any issues in answering questions or explaining what particular menu items were while also checking on us at the right intervals, she definitely deserved her tip. Food was extremely fresh that's very important. Also there's very little all you can eat sushi places around the 757 so adding this one to the list is a bonus. I did have an issue with the amount of food that they bring per request compared to other places but that's just my personal opinion. Everything we ordered came in about quantities of four and what I can only describe as "try-this" samples. If you really love the particular menu item like volcano rolls you will have to place in two orders of that, I get the efficiency of it but it's also slightly annoying because unless you order a lot of food the first time you end up waiting for the waiter in between plates. On my next town visit I would like to explore their non-buffet...
