Whenever I go to a new Mexican restaurant, I order fajitas. I find it a good barometer for the food there. Unfortunately, the fajitas were not very good and the experience was poor. Granted I was alone, the restaurant was mostly empty and there was plenty of open booths. However, they sat me in what appeared to be half a booth? It had the booth bench, but two tables of different heights pushed together. Ok, not particularly nice, but whatever. I ordered chicken fajitas. I waited for what felt like longer than it should have been. Every time I saw one of the waiters bringing out food, I thought my food was finally arriving, but it was going somewhere else. Finally, the fajitas were served. Clearly the plate with with the rice and beans had been sitting for a long time. Both were at room temperature. The beans had become thick and the melted cheese on top was a solid mass. They were very salty as well. The rice tasted fine, but who wants room temperature rice? I like sour cream on my fajitas, but they didnt even provide enough for a single one. Half a teaspoon, maybe. The fajitas themselves came out sizzling. That was the only good thing about it. There was an extraordinary amount of green peppers. I would guess half the contents of the skillet was green peppers. As for the grilled onions, that was also a disappointment. While the green peppers were thick and plentiful, I had to hunt through them to find the the minuscule amount of grilled onions. There wasnt a piece of onion longer than an inch or thicker than two tines of the fork. You couldnt even stab them with a fork to pick them up. The total amount of onions were less than the amount I would put in one fajita. That leaves the chicken. While there actually was a decent amount of chicken on the plate, like the onions, they were impossible to pick up with a fork, as they were shredded into tiny little pieces. Just like the onions, the pieces couldnt even fit on two tines of the fork. There were just a few larger chunks of chicken, but they went to the opposite extreme, as the larger chunks were all still stuck together, as the cook didnt bother to separate them completely. The chicken itself was rather bland. Barely any flavor. Obviously, I wont...
Read moreWow, let me just say this is by far the best Mexican restaurant I have eaten at since coming to Virginia in 2022. & believe me, I've tried a lot of them. This one was so good that we actually went back 2 more times the same week!! Oh my goodness, their fajitas are amazingly good. Beef, chicken, shrimp, lol. You cannot go wrong choosing them. But you may wanna bring a friend because it's a lot of filling for the fajitas 😉 My husband loved their shrimp chimichangas. The kids loved the variety in the kids menu & the food was so good! This has become my kids choice for Mexican from now on This cheese dip is great but the salsa/red sauce is a bit too tomato tasting for me. I prefer more salsa taste, some chunks of tomato/onion etc in my sauce when at a Mexican restaurant. But I just ask for a side of pico & I toss it into my boat of cheese dip & I have good queso ;) The nachos are great. So far I have not ordered anything that was not above par. Check them out when in Virhinia Beach at the corner of Greenwich & I-64. It's pronounced "daga-yaw-ho"
I absolutely love it & the whole family enjoyed it. Service is above par each visit. Yes, I tipped my server very well for keeping our drinks topped off & always checking on us. I will be going back. I highly recommend it. Just look at these pictures, it looks taste as good as the photos looked. Look at the steamy fajitas. So good y'all. 👍 We done lunch one trip & went for dinner the other two, lol. & the process are great. My husband & I ate for under $50 & my whole family of five ate for between $60 & $75 depending on what we ordered. Well worth the prices. Cheaper than Los Palmas & they are great too but this place beats them hands down. On price, variety of selections on the...
Read moreI NO LONGER RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT TO ANY BLACKS WHO LIKE MEXICAN FOOD. 🤷🏾♀️ My husband and I chose to eat there lastnight as we usually do when choosing a Mexican restaurant. The food has always been delicious and prepared as requested The atmosphere has always been pleasant. Lastnight around was totally the opposite. The waiter saw friends sitting across from us and began to chat with them, having us to wait before taking our order while he conversate with his friends. I placed my husband and my order. My husband is allergic to onions, therefore his meal as we were told was prepared with no onions. When my husband plate arrived the bacon looked and tasted raw and there was onions in his rice. The waiter explained that onions comes in the rice, saying that my husband has to accept it the way that it was prepared with onions. My husband explained that he asked for no onions as he always do and that the bacon looked raw. Another gentleman came over to explain the same thing that he has been working at the establishment for 5yrs and it has never been prepared without onions. My husband proceeded to explain to him that he always gets it prepared with no onions. The gentleman became upset and snatched my plate off the table and told my husband and I to go home. He told us to leave. We had never been treated in a disrespectful manner as we were over my husband not being able to eat onions. Do they understand the concept of allergies and allergic reactions. We will never eat there again. We are extremely disappointed. This simple situation could have...
