I typically go to Gina but she’s been traveling and I’ve been getting serviced by other associates for the last few sessions.
I made an appointment for 3pm today for a full acrylic set with gel polish, which is my standard. Upon arrival, I was told to get Gel-X instead of acrylics as the time to do my nails would be shorter (as typically it takes a little over an hour each time). I hadn’t heard of Gel-X but did a quick research and said yes.
My technician, Martin, was pleasant and kind. He had put on 9 nails and by 3:45, the manager who sold me on this service in the first place came over and gave the technician another bottle of nail glue that she wanted him to use.
Unfortunately for me, this meant that Martin had to soak the 9 nails off and restart the entire process. This added another 45 minutes to my time, defeating the purpose of doing something different.
While I like my nails, I don’t appreciate the lack of management’s ownership of wasting my time. The only response was that they wanted to make everything perfect, without accounting for my time or the safety of my nail bed, with them doing the whole drilling/buffing process twice (since the manager had him start over entirely).
Had I been in the position, I would have offered a complimentary nail design or 5% off, but all I received were shrugs.
Sorry to have this experience here....

I came in for a standard manicure with regular polish—not gel, not acrylic—just something simple to last me the four days I’m away from my usual salon. As a professional speaker attending a convention, appearances matter, especially when you’re shaking hands with dozens of people.
I’ve had regular polish, gel, and acrylic nails consistently for the past 25 years, so I know what a $25 manicure should include. Unfortunately, this service fell far short.
I arrived with two friends and my manicure was completed in just 11 minutes (with 7 of those minutes spent under fans for drying). It involved minimal cuticle care, a quick swipe of hand lotion, 60 second buff, and the polish. That’s it. No soaking, no real nail shaping, no vitamin e on the cuticles, no massage and no attention to detail.
I left feeling disappointed and frustrated—not because I expected spa-level treatment, but because even the most basic manicure should feel like it was done with care.

Read moreSaw this nail salon so I went and gave it a try, I just have to say I’m very disappointed. I told them I wanted to do an Ombré style.
They sent a guy to do my nails, he was kinda rough on my nails when using the electric nail drill, there were few moments I said it hurt and he didn’t turn down the drill, I was so nervous the whole time. It took an hour just to remove my previous dipping powder and filed it. He kept trying to find the right color but I understood not every color is the exact same.
The problem I had was when he first put the dipping powder on, he did it the way like acrylic instead of dipping my finger in the powder and when he’s done with one finger, it just didn’t look right. He thought it’s the color problem. So I ended up asking him to just remove it. I didn’t make a big deal about it and said I just wanted to leave. I still had to pay what had been done on my nails.
For those who want some designs on their nails, I don’t think this is the place to go, I think they’re lack of experience. I honestly didn’t think my design was too much to ask, it was simple pink ombré. I have been going to nails salon for years and this is one of my...
