I recently tried an Italian sandwich from Central Park Deli, and it was a highly disappointing experience, primarily due to the poor quality of the meat.
The first issue was the bread. Instead of the fresh, crusty Italian bread one would expect, it was dry and stale, making every bite a struggle. However, the real disappointment lay in the meat. The sandwich featured a mix of salami, ham, and possibly some pepperoni, but the quality was shockingly bad. The meats were bland, rubbery, and had an off-putting texture that made them difficult to chew. It felt like they had been sitting out for far too long, or perhaps were just of very low quality to begin with.
Moreover, the sandwich was poorly constructed. The meat slices were unevenly distributed, with some parts of the sandwich containing almost no meat at all. This lack of balance was frustrating and made the sandwich even less enjoyable.
To make matters worse, the sandwich was devoid of any dressing or seasoning that might have salvaged some flavor. The result was a dry, tasteless, and unappealing meal that I would not recommend to anyone.
In summary, the Italian sandwich from Central Park Deli was a major letdown, especially due to the very bad meat quality. It was a far cry from what an Italian sandwich should be, lacking in flavor, freshness, and...
Read moreWe were promptly greeted by our server. She returned really fast for our order. Not Knowing what to expect or what to order, we scrambled to get our orders together. Everything was separately ordered. Ordered a kids chicken nuggets for almost $5 and had to order ff's separately as well as a drink. The order of fries alone were $5. She said there was enough to share amongst the 3 of us. Well, I ate 1 big steak cut FF and our 6 year old ate 3. My husband ate all the rest. I knew he could eat them all so I refrained. As we were leaving there was a young couple with a HUGE order of fries like ours was supposed to be. Ours was way less than half the size of there's and was supposed to be the same. There were a few really nice customers eating in the establishment that were really nice to chat with. Being new in a town you've never been to is harder than it seems. But even though the prices were a bit higher than we thought they would be the food was great and worth the money we paid. I'd purchased a full size sub with housemade pastrami and corned beef with swiss cheese and white cheddar with all the fixings and 1000 island dressing. Kyle got a Philly cheese steak sub. Our food was phenomenal. We definitely will go back. We got a to-go menu so we will know what we want to...
Read moreI went here with my wife for the first time. Had made other attempts but they were closed when online showed they were open. Evidently, they are short staffed. The one star given is for the waitress, who was great. My wife had the tuna melt on rye. Her experience with it was that the bread was overly greasy (very greasy), the bottom of the bread was soggy and the sandwich tasted "off". She didn't eat all of it. She ended up getting home and vomiting, and felt sick for the rest of the night. I had the hamburger, which was a flat burger patty on a huge bun. And, the french fries which were your typical frozen steak fries. Needless to say, our first visit there was our last. Lastly, I noticed upon checking out that the large container they keep the pickles in that they bring to you in a bowl was sitting on the counter with no top on it. And, it stayed that way until we left which makes me wonder if it's always open like that. Not a very sanitary food practice. And they might want to get the thick dust off of the sign at the register....
