I had originally left a 2 star back on 2/6/21 due to various reasons I found unacceptable.
TLDR; The owner cares, puts a lot of effort in. Place is clean and efficient on the days hes working, hopefully hes able to get the other shifts in line as well soon. Glad to see genuine effort and positive change instead of empty words, I wish you the best of luck!
But amazingly enough, the owner not only reached out to me to actually ask for details and information on everything. But even went about explaining his feelings and solutions for every issue I complained about. I've worked in food service before, both as a manager and an employee. Uniform standards and service are not easy to achieve, so I decided to give the place a second chance after giving them a few weeks to tidy up.
I've now come back, and actually ended up coming on a day the owner was working of all days/times, this wasn't planned either. Brian was extremely nice, very professional, and makes most workers and MANY other managers I've seen over years look like lazy children by comparison. I watched this fellow put up with rude customers with a smile, going around making pizzas, busting tables, trash and dishes, drinks, you name it. Where most other people would just let the tables or bins pile up until enough people came in to where they had to clean.
Everything on the bar was made per order or time it seems, so nothing was super dried out or just sitting for hours. So for the time being I had to bump my review up, its clear this owner truly cares about his standards and wanting a good n clean business. Change doesn't happen quickly, especially with covid and workers that don't care as much. But long as places are trying, I think they deserve a positive push and encouragements for it.
Keep doing what you're doing Brian, I hope you're able to keep the good ones you have, and find or swap out the others with some that care at least half as much as you do. I'd have loved to have a boss that put in as much legitimate grunt work and care back when I was in...
Read more10/10 would, nay, will recommend. Being that our beloved Hampton roads Cici’s locations have all ceased operations, my family and I persistently continue to visit when passing through the Richmond metropolitan area. This was by far the best Cici’s experience we have had in a gazillion years. We severely underestimated the number of slices we would each put down. With guesses of 6 and 7.5, the final counts of 10.5 and 8 superseded our wildest imaginations. Commencing with the cheese bread, it certainly put Apex’s attempt to shame. The abundance of cheese, with an exquisite pull, and the extra notes of garlic pushed my taste buds off the rails. Upon inspection, there was no zesty ham and cheddar pizza options at the ready, but at my request, one of your location’s most skillful chefs prepared a perfect specimen. Furthermore, Tonight’s selection of buffalo chicken zzas, with a feel of mouth happiness from the magnificently spicy sauce and just the right ratio of chicken to cheese and crust, was a godsend. Although I seldom waste digestive real estate on non-Cici’s signature pies, the Hawaiian called to me, with its tropical pineapple mystique. I did not regret it….. Lastly, but in no way least, we encountered the dessert offerings. At first, I was overcome by a sense of disappointment at the lack of dessert pizzas, “where is my apple pie?” “Where is my custard slice?” At last, I settled for a good ol’ brownie and a cinnamon roll. Boy, was I in for the ride of a lifetime. The brownie was majestically moist, and subtly chewy in the most fathomable way. Closing my palate, was the enchanting cinnamon aroma of your delightfully warm buns. Beware my impending return....
Read moreWill never support this establishment again. We came there to celebrate my nephew's birthday and when we walked in the cashier said we couldn't be served until one of the children with us had on a mask which was completely understandable, so we quickly fixed the issue. While the cashier was entering the order for all of our party an unruly customer decided he wanted to make a fuss about how many people we had, and an argument ensued. During the argument we asked the cashier why he didn't tell the unruly customer to put on a mask and he said he didn't see him with no mask. Finally all of the orders for our party was completed and we proceeded to take a seat. While being seated the cashier and the unruly customer said something in Spanish amongst themselves and the cashier's response was "I know, don't worry drinks on me". So when I questioned the cashier about it he said he didn't say what he said so I asked for the manager. When the manager came to the front counter I told him what had happened and he immediately defended the cashier. So we told that ok we wanted our money back and we will be leaving and he refused to give a refund which started another argument. This argument lead to the police being called. Once the police arrive he finally returned the money as if he wasn't holding on too it. At the end of the day no one was arrested and it wasn't anything the police could do. Never will we ever consider this...
