Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Virginia

I drive all over town for work so I visit many different Tropical Smoothies. This is by far one of the worst Tropical Smoothies that I go to this is probably my 5th time coming and every time things just don't taste like other ones as well as lack of customer service.

This location still has all the tables put up as well as signs that you're not allowed to use the public restroom. My guess is this is in regards to the covid. There are many other Tropical Smoothies that are still allowing customers to use restrooms. My recommendation to this one would be figure out which direction you want to go because telling me I'm unable to use the bathroom because if covid is ridiculous when I walk through the door and I see none of your employees behind the desk wearing mask while drinking smoothies and prepping online orders. I will say that once I walked in all the staff Place The Mask over top of their face to appear that they've been following directions to whole time.

In the past employees here have allowed me to use the restroom even with the sign being up. however today I was told to walk down to Firehouse Subs that they should let me use theirs. I kindly ask for a refund and will take my business to places that have better customer service. I know that many Tropical Smoothies are independently owned so I will do my research and provide feedback on other tropical smoothies at this owner operates out of.

At the end of the day I will respect any decision an individual has in regards to covid however be all in or not at all because sending mixed signals to your customers it's just bad...

I would rate them less but I can’t. Horrible experience! I ordered through the app and showed up at the expected time it told me( 20 minutes after ordering). I show up to be ignored for 5 minutes until I had to yell to catch someone’s attention. Mind you they had a big group of people waiting (which is understandable). When the boy that was making sandwiches approached me I told him I had ordered through the app he told me it was going to be another 20 minute wait. Naturally, I was upset and the girl making the smoothies comes out and says “it’s not my problem, I have 6 other smoothies to make before yours.” I asked for a refund and she rolled her eyes and walked away. At this point I was furious at the disrespect I was given, and I demanded a refund. The boy told me I can’t do that, and the girls response was “I don’t have time for this I already told her it wasn’t my problem that we’re busy!” She proceded to call the owner, wipe her sweat off, and talk on the phone in the back. She came to the front and told me if I wanted a refund the owner said it would be a while. I asked to talk to the owner and she handed me the phone. I let him know that I wasn’t upset for the wait, I was upset in the way that she spoke to me. He was very cordial and apologized for her behavior which isn’t his position. I understand you’re in a stressful situation but it is no way to talk to a paying customer. They really should re evaluate the people they hire there. Very rude and...

Update: a month later no call no refund. Sent an $8 gift card, that would be great if the order I never received wasn’t $17

Update: 3 days after leaving my phone number, no call from manager or refund. Also no one answers the phone.Also, I have entered info on the link provided.

Original review: Never got my food/smoothies. Ordered in advance and still waited for an additional 20-30 minutes. Had to call an employee over to ask to cancel. Turns out my food had been sitting there but not in pick up box. And they never made the smoothie. Not sure why you would make food so far in advance from the drink and let it just sit. Also unable to get refund, had to leave my info. i am assuming a manager will adjust later. Some time could have been saved if the employees would actually acknowledge the customers as they come in. I understand short staff but unsure of how efficient it is to have multiple items sitting behind cubes that either a person abandon due to wait or you never know who it’s for. Basically in kitchen working with no purpose . It seems the person is making the smoothies in the opposite order of the person making the food. After observing I am glad i didn’t get anything because the young white girl is touching in her hair every few seconds and then touching back on the lid....
