Read the reviews, so we decided to give this place a try. Arrived at an almost empty restaurant, but decided to stay. Sat down and placed our orders, our food arrived 10 minutes later. It's not a great sign for a sushi restaurant. On a side note, the word "sushi" actually refers to the rice, not the fish, so the rice is 60% of the meal. All the rice we were served in every roll and Nigiri was cold and crunchy, which means we were eating refrigerated leftover rice. To those of you who think I'm being too much of a complainer, know that in Japan in a Japanese sushi restaurant there is one person dedicated to making the rice, and that's all they do full-time for most of their lives. The sushi rice is that important to the meal, and every meal is served with fresh, warm, soft rice. So, to be served cold crunchy rice, quite honestly was insulting. Secondly, the salad was way overdressed, the miso soup was bland and flavorless. Mind you yet again, for those who think I'm complaining, I spent $90 (with tip) on this lunch with my wife. At $90, that rice should be perfect, soft, and warm. This tells me the chef behind the counter doesn't care about the quality of the food he's serving and is an affront to the...
Read moreThis place is awesome! I ordered takeout here twice. The first time my sister and I waited inside for the food to be done and it was beautiful inside the restaurant, the waitress was friendly, and even brought us drinks while we waited. My favorite thing to get is the Power Roll- a sushi roll with thin cooked steak filet on top with a yummy savory sauce. I have never seen an option like this anywhere else around here. I have also ordered the Hawaii roll, which did NOT skimp on the salmon, the Dinosaur roll, the Richmond roll, and the steamed shrimp shumai. All were very delicious. My sister had a salmon combo and enjoyed it. My husband had the Twin Tower roll, which, although I don’t LOVE the name of that one, he thought it was very tasty. Not too spicy. When I first saw the prices, I thought it was a bit ridiculous as many of them are $15-$20, but based on the amount you get (they are large rolls) and the quality, I actually think it’s a good value. I WILL be returning for a third time, maybe even with a few...
Read moreThe sashimi is to die for... Wow I love me some yellowtail, I get it at most sushi places I can get it. The last time I was here I had both tuna & yellowtail sashimi orders. They were both so fresh and tasty. And they give you decent size cuts too! I've been to sushi places that will give you smaller cuts for the same price and still not as tasty as I had it here. And the plating is always Instagram worthy lol. It's also a very nice ambient vibe visually to dine in. Very relaxing and fancy feeling. I ended up getting a desert too, it tasted great and was brought to be visually appealing. I think this might be my new favorite sushi spot, I will travel extra miles from surrounding cities...
