Ive never had any problems here in the past but 2 days ago I had a very unpleasant dining experience. Showed up and was seated as I waited for my partner to arrive. The table was very wet from being wiped down. I say wiped down and not cleaned because you can see the swipes of water on the table. I waited for a server so they could dry my table, but no one came to my table. 20 min. Go by without anyone coming to my table or acknowledging I'm even there. After 22 min. I finally got the server to make eye contact and he dropped a check at another table, and he said he would be with me in a minute. Then raised his voice from across the room as he was walking away to ask if I wanted something to drink. Once my partner arrived we ordered an appitizer which came out quickly and was delicious. Once we ordered we waited 25 minutes for our food. When the food eventually came out it was cold. The fries were barely warm. I flagged down my server and asked for ketchup and apple butter which came 5 min. Later. Our server never came back to the table so we had to ask another server for napkins. Our Server finally came and I asked for the check and a to go box for my partner
The server never acknowledged my partner except to call her sweetie and honey while she ordered and as we left.
The server handed me my partners condiments and my partners to go box and her napkins without acknowledging her which was weird.
The place was not busy and had only 2 tables with patrons at it. The service was so bad that a older couple behind us asked the host if anyone was going to acknowledge that they were their because after 15ish minutes the server never came to their table.
I've never worked at cracker barrel but they seemed fully staffed as I saw about 6 employees not including managers at and around the kitchen door. The place was pretty slow that afternoon.
The experience left a bad taste in my mouth and the servers un apologetic demeanor and lack of awareness made me regret having dinner at that location. If we do decide to return it may be a long while and I definitely will ask for a different server if we are given the...
Read moreTo whom this may concern. I hope: I ordered two eggs over easy with toast honey ham grits gravy and the cinnamon apple the only thing that was hot was the apples and the ham was a little bit warmer than room temperature it was good but it would have been so much better if it had been warmer đ look at my toast and grits the two scoops of butter wouldn't even melt on the toast or in grits. Had cold eggs they were not over easy as I asked. they were slammed down evidently there was two other people with me also one of them had biscuit and gravy was cold my other guest got a baked potato which came out after everyone else but at least it was hot for them so I went to Virginia got the biggest disappointment in a breakfast I have ever had at a cracker barrel I live in Louisiana and have visited a mini of cracker barrel between Virginia and Louisiana. when I told the waiter he really seemed he did not care and just walked off it sounded like (he said sorry?) but it was very soft and did not completely understand I have the receipt somewhere I wish I could find it so you can get the number and you know who waited but you can see the pictures I was there June 5th approximately 2:00pm I paid with a Visa debit card I know it was almost 2:30pm when we checked out at the register I also bought one of the GoPros for $24.+Âą tax it was right about $90+ For everything. Thank you and God Bl ess Yours Truly; George...
Read moreI try not to be too hard because I know it's hard to find quality help these days. Having said that, it's still not that hard to get hot food in a restaurant. There were 5 of us, three people ordered the same breakfast dish. All of the eggs were cold, the gravy was watery and tasteless and the biscuits were hockey pucks. Cracker Barrel biscuits and gravy are usually pretty good. In addition the waitress didn't bring the gravy then only brought two of the three and was upset when we asked for the third. Keep in mind all three orders are supposed to come with gravy. The fourth breakfast was stuffed pancakes, they were stone cold as well. I ordered lunch since I had already had breakfast. Decided to try the fried chicken. It was a little warmer than everyone else's food, but it was not good. Tasted old as if it had been reheated. It reminded me of the frozen Banquet fried chicken you get in the freezer section of the grocery store. The steak fries were room temperature and soggy. The best part was my house salad and it was just ok. The manager took $20 off of our $80 bill which is fine. Not really about the money. She explained that they were training servers and kitchen staff. .. ok fine. When she saw our waitresses name she seemed to not be surprised. Overall I don't expect fine dining from Cracker Barrel but I do...
