Incompetence abounds. Bought a $20 gift card, only to have the cashier write $10 on it. And then she has no way to correct her mistake. This is a gift card...so tacky to write a balance in messy permanent ink, much less not be able to correct the issue. Please hire people that pay attention to what they are doing.
Update: If I could give this place lower than zero stars, I would. The saga continues, when my 75 year old aunt went to use the card, there was no money loaded to it. She paid cash for her meal. No initiative on the part if the employee, to resolve the problem. So, we had to go through hoops to get this $20 card replaced. I picked it up several days later and was assured we were good to go. Nope, next time my aunt tried to use the gift card same thing happened. No money loaded. At least this time the person behind the counter honored the card and just gave her the remaining monies back in cash. Absolutely absurd to deal with this ... especially for our Seniors. Glad I was around to help resolve the issues. Incompetence drives me bonkers. A little pride and effort...
Read moreThe pizza was thin (not NY thin), peculiar crusted, rectangular and the sort I have always called "bowling alley pizza." I didn't understand that. Another pizzeria in the area I've been to while visiting Front Royal, was hardly my favorite ever, but it was fine and at least what one would normally expect from such a place. From the moment it arrived, I was surprised to see what looked like one of those discounted square pizzas the big chains sometimes advertise. I was sure to try a piece of the shared pizza, but was very glad I ordered my own meal. My Italian Ciabatta Sandwich & fries was enjoyable, but it is just cold cuts. It may be a safer bet if you like that sort of thing and find yourself having to go there with a group, as I did. Others in my party (who are far less picky about pizza), described it as "bland." I'm not sure that was exactly part of my complaint with it, but they very much agreed with my "bowling alley pizza" opinion over all. Our waitress seemed...
Read moreI’m sure this place has great pizza, but the quality and taste of the rest of the menu will ensure that I never find out.
The cheesesteak is one of the best I’ve had (having more cheesesteaks than anyone really should) and would be the go-to order, except they also make the Athena Salad. The Athena is, simply put, the best salad meal you can find in Virginia/North Carolina/Maryland/Pennsylvania. The pretzel is also terrific, but I do not recommend taking that on without a friend unless you intend for it to be a meal.
I’ve never had a bad experience here, and I will be returning. The atmosphere is fun and comfortable, and not over-the-top 31-pieces of “flair,” so one can legit bring their friends and co-workers for a gathering or a special someone for a date.
If you are a local, you probably already know. If you’re new to the area or just passing through, there is A LOT of great food to be found in Front Royal, but Ledo’s sits atop...
