Las Caverns — Restaurant in Virginia

My wife and I came here on October 1st which was apparently their opening. I had high hopes for this place only to be completely disappointed. We ordered the 2 whole chickens, sides and drinks to go totaling $42 and some change. Little did I know, for the amount this place charges, I would be getting 2 tiny sides that are equivalent to one big side and one corn on the cob that would be severed on a big to-go box. I ordered the yuca and fries and came in the small to-go containers and when I ordered the corn I thought it would be the kernel of the corn and not a corn on the cob. The chicken I received was cold and I mean like it was left out in room temperature for hours. The lady who handed me the food had the nerve to tell me the chicken was just taken out of the oven. Every Peruvian chicken place I’ve gone to, the chicken is hot and fresh and you could feel the heat coming from the bottom of the container. This was 100% opposite of that. I asked for a refund and the lady had to face time her manager to figure how to do a refund and I still have not received my money back yet!! This place was a complete let down and won’t be going back here. The Peruvian chicken place in Winchester near the Alamo is 1000% better than this place. Don’t let this place take advantage of you when it comes to quality and price of the food. Way better...

Food was burned. When I asked the waitress if they could maybe make it again, she said they could not and if I want a replacement it would be the same. The co-owner (woman) was there and came over to say there was nothing wrong with the food and that I was like one of those “white” people that have gone there and made “excuses” just to get a free meal. I was asked where I was from ny the co-owner. Are you serious!??!! Chicken was dry as well and they got mad when I asked for a bit more sauce. Is this good customer service? How do you run a business like this??!!? Yeah your food used to be good but not now and your service is terrible and in front of my kids too!! Terrible!!!!!! I was given half of my money back but never was I given an apology for the mediocre waitresses attitude , the co-owners disqusting disrespect, horrible food or the blatant racism...

So, it’s 7:35pm on 10/29/23 and we walk in to enjoy some great chicken here. We sit down and the waitress walks over, hands us menus, and informs us they have no chicken, only other entrees available. I asked why no chicken at a place that has Pollo in the name. She told us it was too close to closing time. They close at 9pm. I called earlier to confirm the closing time and we purposely got there early to avoid arriving at closing. We got up, and walked out and ate somewhere else. I don’t quite know what to say to walk into a restaurant with the main food item they are serving is chicken and be told they don’t have any because it’s too close to closing time.
