Frye's Famous Crab Cake CO — Restaurant in Virginia

Once again, another great food experience from Frye's!!! He originally delivered to me way back when in Old Town Manassas. Unfortunately I wasn't there to meet him personally (thank God the crab cakes were still there at my doorstep, lol). He understood and I couldn't be there and really helped. Can't believe the owner was delivering to me himself!!

So after that I had told my Mother about him since opening up the place of business in Manassas, we've ordered from there multiple times.

Today I went in for my BDay and had seen him making crab cakes himself with my Mother, my Mother then mentioned to me that he was doing the same thing the last time. I shouted out FOOD DUDE when I had seen him (if you haven't seen his videos, please check out FOOD DUDE USA). He replied back with a great joy asking if I'd seen his video before? I said "yup" and that Giuseppe's in Haymarket was why I went to their location and it was as great as he had reported!!! Have ordered Italian from there and been going there since. Mr. Frye know what he's talking about in his reviews.

I would also like to point out to all that as I had mentioned to Mr. Frye that my Mother and I are originally from Baltimore as we kind of set the bar on crabs and crab cakes up there! That speaks volumes for how great his food is. Also the sides were very plentiful (much more than you would think). I would call these very large sized.

My point is, I highly recommend this place and Mr. Frye as a great patron to this community.

Love to support small businesses, so when I stumbled upon JLCCC, I knew I had to give it a try. Definitely worth my time! With customer service being of the utmost importance, I’d be remiss to not mention the level of service I received. I was immediately greeted, given a rundown of food offerings/specials, asked if I needed assistance placing my order and had my food delivered to my car. Outstanding!

Regarding the food itself, I ordered the double crab cake platter including six hush puppies and shrimp pasta salad. The crab cakes were lightly breaded with pure jumbo lump crab meat - zero fillers. They were seasoned to perfection, and I’ll only add that I prefer it be cooked slightly longer (no deductions here). The shrimp pasta lands in my top three for best shrimp/seafood pastas - well done! The hush puppies were also great. I finished off my meal with a yummy carrot cupcake albeit I could not immediately enjoy it as it was cold/hard. It seems I received one out of the fridge but no deductions here as I stopped in minutes to them closing.

Lastly, this establishment is carry-out only, but I did briefly have time to admire the aesthetics. Super cute!

Had no idea this was even open in Manassas until I saw the raving reviews on my local Facebook. I absolutely love crab cakes, so I HAD to see what all the fuss was about. Let me tell you, folks, this will be my exclusive crab cake spot for the future. As soon as you walk in, the staff make sure to let you know that you are truly welcome; friendly faces and conversation all around. Being such a small eatery tucked away in a busy plaza, it amazes me how fast the HOMEMADE dishes are ready for the public. My brother and I stopped in to get the single cake platters with the potato salad and chips to go. Now, I know a genuine crab cake when I see one, but my brother wasn't as familiar. Let me tell you, we were absolutely floored by our meal and left not a single crumb. The reviews are right when they say there is little to no filler in these crab cakes; when they say JUMBO lump, they aren't messing around. The potato salad and, as they call it, "Boss Sauce" are a perfect compliment for the outstanding main dish. Let this review be your sign to take the plunge and have a taste of the genuine article...
