One star is being VERY generous, Please read if thinking of going to Zorba's One of the absolute worst dining experiences that my wife and I have ever had. Also, the "owner" is very condescending, cheap, and EXTREMELY petty ! My wife and I stopped into Zorba's for dinner this evening. Both of our dinners had small portions, large prices, and most importantly both dinners were poor tasting. My dinner was the Gyro Platter for $19 which consisted of ONE small circular piece of pita bread cut into four small triangular wedges with 5 or 6 very thinly cut and small sized pieces of lamb that was tough tasting. Plate also had very small amount of tzatziki that also wasn't good tasting. Instead of green beans and rice with my dinner, I opted to spend an additional $2 for sweet potato fries instead of rice with green beans. When my dinner arrived, there were maybe 7 small sweet potato fries and green beans with an honestly disgusting looking tomato based sauce on them. When I asked our waitress (which was also owner of Zorba's) about the fries portion size, she became very condescending and rude. I asked if she could just take the $2 upcharge for the fries off of our bill. She agreed to do that but then picked up the saucer with the fries & green beans up. Instead of just being an understanding and decent waitress/restaurant owner, she wanted to go back and forth with either making me pay the $2 or bring me more disgusting looking green beans and rice which were the two sides that originally comes with gyro platter. She then took the saucer of fries and beans before I could even eat any and didn't bring me anything back in its place. Seriously, how cheap, petty, and vindictive as a restaurant owner do you have to be to argue with a customer over maybe seven fries that will be thrown away once it gets picked up and TWO DOLLARS, then not even bring a replacement item back for the customer ? My wife and I asked this waitress if we could please talk to the manager and this waitress stated she is also the owner of Zorba's. We just got our check and tried once again to reason with this lady but no such luck. The owner/waitress even condescendingly touched my shoulder and I had to tell her not to touch me. After paying our bill we were leaving and I asked another female employee if the manager was available. This employee stated that she was the manager but our waitress was in fact the owner of Zorba's and the cook as well. Zorba's used to be great food, great service, and fair prices. Not sure what has happened but we will NEVER go back and I will be sure to tell family and friends our story and feel certain they won't go back to Zorba's...
Read moreWorst Greek food experience. Service was horrible. Food was awful. Dinner was not authentic Greek in anyway. Saganaki Cheese was placed in a microwave and melted and then brought out to table and served as an appetizer. Saganaki is fried and then served. Flaming cheese is definitely not Greek. Feta cheese was American feta. Salad was something you would find in a fast food restaurant. Waitress disappeared several times. I had to get up and get silverware myself. Management was not welcoming or warm in anyway. Kitchen staff roamed in and out of dining room wearing construction boots and bandanas on their heads. The table we sat at was directly near the kitchen door and heard all the noise from loud and screaming Latin speaking cooks. The door should be closed off or a wall should be placed around it. The guest I invited there did not eat because she knew staff who worked in kitchen in the and was aware of repeated health and safety violations. Big embarrassment for me. Waitresses lacked presentation and were obviously management did not care to make sure wait staff is presentable and suited to work at what is considered a restaurant. I can go on but not enough time for it. I strongly suggest that if Zorba's wants to give diners a proper and comfortable dining experience to make changes to staff, kitchen an menu and respect and be more than fair to customers who take the time to review their experiences there. We deserve better if we are spending time and money there. I more than willing to voice my concerns directly to management so that poor representation of the Greek kitchen will be corrected and people stop eating food that is an embarrassment...
Read moreIt was team lunch and we chose this restaurant to celebrate our colleagues b’days. It was a Greek and Italian restaurant offering great dishes. It was quite empty. We got the table back at the restaurant. I must say our server was well courteous, patient and ready to answer whatever silly question we asked. We ordered 7-8 dishes which includes following
Homemade lamb burger-I had it and I must say it was a big chunk of fat lamb juicy patty. Quite delicious
Buffalo chicken sandwich- it was also good
Chicken shish kabab- first I wanted to try this, but one of my colleagues had it and he said it was good.
Other folks had steak & cranberries salad, tuna, fish chips, falafel wrap and other dishes and it was all good. Only thing was after order, they took almost 40 minutes to serve. Never mind food was good and we enjoyed it.
Yup one more thing- we ordered from the lunch menu and all item was under $10 so it was well under budget so definitely recommended for lunch and we would definitely come back for lunch.
I enjoyed my juicy...
