I absolutely love the food here- bagel sandwhiches are phenomenal! I would give it 5 stars but I am a little frustrated with their operations. First off, you start at the bagel counter and tell a worker what you want, and they sometimes write it down, sometimes they don’t, and then they disappear to prepare your order. Then, you walk down the line and you have to tell the cashier what you ordered, and he or she puts it into the system and you pay right there. So, minimum, you have to say your order twice, sometimes more if one of the workers has to ask you again. Then, after you pay, you are not given an order number and they don’t ask for your name. And you go off to the side to wait for your order. There is no waiting area, so you are uncomfortably close to the tables where people are eating. Then, another positive is they are really quick, they will come out with your order, and since there is no name or number attached to your order, the worker who prepared your order comes out and just repeats the whole order back to you and hands it to you.
This whole process is wildly inefficient, and it doesn’t always work. The first time I ordered takeout from here, I asked for a side of 2 hashbrowns (which are great btw) which they charged me for but did not give me.
The process of ordering, paying, and receiving food at this restaurant puts unnecessary burden on the customers and the workers, because they are stuck doing lots of re-entering orders, and I can imagine it gets hard for them to track who’s order is who’s and what they actually ordered. I strongly advise the management to come up with or invest in a better system to take orders. Once they do that, I will gladly give them 5 stars!!
I mean no disrespect to the restaurant with this post- like I said before the food is great, and the workers are nice, it’s just… really...
Read moreI found this place by accident and was glad I went. I had an Everything bagel, sliced and toasted with cream cheese, and I also got the Ellis Island Pastrami sandwich on an Everytjing bagel (it comes with a rye bagel, normally). Both were excellent. The bagels have a slight crisp on the outside, and the inside is appropriately chewy. I really liked that the Everything seasoning was on both the top and bottom halves of the bagel. Usually, most places only season the top, for some inexplicable reason. The Ellis Island pastrami sandwich had very good, lean pastrami, spicy mustard Swiss, and optional onion (which I got). It was delicious and I would've preferred some extra pastrami because it was so good. It was served with a side of macaroni salad and a pickle.
There's indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was very nice, and the place was busy at 1030 am on a Tuesday with a steady stream of customers. Lots of coffee options, bottled drinks, and fountain drinks. Breakfast is served all day, which I really like. I'd definitely recommend this place, and I will be coming back when I'm...
Read moreWe've been coming here for a long time. I wasn't sure what the prior reviewer was referring to with rude customer service. But I experienced that today. They have a new person, I don't recognize her so I assume she's fairly new. Anyway, I asked for a baker's dozen and picked a variety of flavors. I asked for the onion to be bagged separately from the cinnamon. Then the plain separate. Is that unreasonable? Because the lady got irritated with me. I tried explaining that I didn't want all those flavors combined, especially onion with cinnamon. Then I saw she gave me a dozen instead of thirteen. She insisted she gave me the right amount. So when I went to the Korean lady at the cash register, I let her know that I was short a bagel. She asked the new lady and again insisted I had the correct amount. So I took them all out and counted them out. Twelve. Then they finally gave me that thirteenth bagel. I hope they can find some good help, I don't know what's going...
