If you’re seeking the BEST GREEK FOOD EXPERIENCE, look no further because this Family Greek restaurant “MILANO’S” in Springfield, VA will have your tastebuds satisfied!
I’ve heard of this place 4 years ago from a family friend and decided to finally give it a try. My one regret was not trying this place sooner!
The first thing you see when entering the restaurant is the beautiful Milano family, their history, journey, and accomplishments as a family. Then you will notice this sort of family comfort when interacting with the staff, almost as if you’re part of the Milano’s family! The staff were extremely welcoming and professional. They were no wait line when we arrived. A few minutes later, every booth, and sitting were taken. Which speaks volumes to their reputations. Our waitress (Kasey’s) was full of energy and so SWEET! Her menu item recommendations were a knockout-the-park! My wife and I started with the Spanakopita (of course), it was truly so authentic and delicious! Then their house wings - such crispy and tasty! For our entry, we tried their Gyros and cheesesteak sub (the cheesesteak was FIRE!). Just sleepless, the gyros were huge too and we had them with extra feta and their house sauce. Their house sauce should be called the “Universal Sauce” That thing paired well with everything with tired! Wings, fries, subs, salad, gyros, chips, Spanakopita, etc…! I wish I had taken some of their house sauce home with me lol See the photos I’ve taken. For dessert of course had their homemade baklava. I have traveled to many places in the world and I can attest that their baklava is TOP 3! I think that the food at Milano’s without a doubt was excellent, and I’m extremely satisfied. But I feel like the comfort and homey feeling from the staff, and )owner (John) completed the whole experience for my wife and me. Without being said, I definitely recommend anyone seeking authentic Greek food and more to try Milano’s...
Read moreI went to Milano's with friends, based on one of their recommendations. So, keep in mind that it is enjoyed by some. Pros - friendly service, old school diner feel, quick service, ample seating, and jumbo portions. Cons - For the price I expected Maggianos quality or at least comparable to Olive Garden, but I found it only slightly above what I'd get at fast-food. The fish and chicken were extremely overcooked. The chicken was almost hard, like it may have been freezer burned. The salmon was $20 and a large portion but I'd prefer half the portion with flavor and not so dry. The selection large and sparse at the same time. Like several smaller restaurants they are doing double duty. In this case they had Italian and Greek dishes. So there was a wealth of choices overall but if you wanted something as simple as a vegetable side dish you were mostly out of lunch. You could get potatoes a few different ways or the veg of the day. The day I was there the veg was broccoli, which is fine but most restaurants serve it boiled and bland... but the horrible treatment of broccoli is for another discussion topic.
In any case, not the worst but not worth the money. Sadly I can't recommend it. Want inexpensive seafood? Give Outback or Bonefish a try. Want decent Italian, go to Ozzie's, Maggianos, or just try a different local mom...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming here for years. They’ve always had good food and a good atmosphere as well. My go-to meal has always been the baked spaghetti. The plate is huge and it’s never something that I have been able to finish in one sitting. They provide a lot of food for their dinner portions, which is not something you will find in a lot of restaurants. The spaghetti dinner includes any salad of your choice, as well as, garlic bread.
My other favorites include the gyro with no onions, and pizza of course! The pizzas are really good, and their made with lots of fresh ingredients. The pizzas are medium crust and can easily feed two or more people. Their pizzas are better than most because they add extra sauce. Sometimes I have ordered the gyro platter with vegetables which are also fresh and delicious.
The place definitely has a European atmosphere, and it’s situated in a typical strip mall. There are a probably thirty or more seats inside. We’ve never encountered any type of wait even during dinner. The servers and kitchen staff are always attentive, and the service has always been very good. This place has easily become one of my favorite places to eat in...
