Tonight was my very first and very last time eating at o'charleys!!!! Friends insisted we go here, but they had only been to other locations. I'll start at the beginning, had to wait almost an hour to get a table when we were told 20 minutes. Then we did get our table there is only 2 other tables in use?? Why did I have to wait again??? Takes the server over 15 mins to come get our drink order, and appetizer. Again only 2 other table and they have thier food already. Plus there was 2 severs working plus the hostess. Get our drink 10 mins later and its wrong! Been sitting over 30 mins and I don't even have my drink... appetizer comes (spinach dip) we place our orders and appetizer disgusting! Super greasy and just tasted wrong to everyone at the table with chips more chewy then crunky. At least now I have my drink, but no staws!! Really? One hour at the table now, food comes. 2 at our table had the steamed broccoli as a side and it was very very hard to the point where neither person could eat or enjoy it, (we ask for butter and straws) I had a 12oz top sirloin with mushrooms onions and garlic butter sauce. I ordered medium rare and this steak was rare! I'm not picky about my steak unless its over cooked normally but this is still cold in the center and bleed on my plate. My mac&cheese is chewy and dry, gross. And the bacon mashed potatoes which I ordered without bacon came looking old and with bacon. Takes us over 10 mins to catch the sever and tell her about the steak. We hadn't noticed the broccoli thing yet. So away goes my steak and we noticed the broccoli and my sides plus still no condiments OR STRAWS. We ask to speak to a manager who come out with a obviously very dirty apron and a mask that is literally facing off his face!!! Nose fully exposed and his top lip visible when talking... uh COVID!!! And then he actually defends his server who has given us very poor service instead of apologizing by saying that she has been with the company for three years and that at this point the restaurant is closed and everyone is trying to go home... so you're making us feel unwelcome, rushed, and unimportant! Besides is not our fault as we arrived to the store an hour and a half prior to close.. your service (lack of) has put me here past closing and yet i still don't have my food. We told him about the appetizer to which he said that is just how we make it here and you just must not like it. What!? Customer isn't always right around here. He does not offer any kind of discount nor offer to remove anything for the bill or even offer a slice of pie. He offers to bring us fresh broccoli but everyone was finished eating now. Other then me still waiting for my steak. When my steak does come it does not come with new sides so now I have a fresh steak and my sides that have been sitting for at least 20 minutes. So much for a hot and fresh meal. Also my mushrooms and onions aren't even cooked. They had more crunch than my "fresh" chips. The steak was brought out by a different manager and so we speak to him highlighting the above and still no straws or other condiments with our drinks sitting empty on the table and he tells us we had spoken with General manager before and thier was nothing he would do... other then bring us to go drinks.... WITHOUT straws!!! So fed up we get the check and ask for our straws before well pay, got finally. We pay, full price for everything for everything now over 2 hours since we got there, food was mostly horrible sevice was completely horrible and we didn't even get to eat together... the kicker is as we leave, they again messed up my drink in the to go cup!!! Absolutely everything about this experience was like pulling teeth and could have only been made worse if a cockroach fell on my plate. And after all that, I wouldn't doubt it! Wish I could give you negative stars because from the sever to the cook to the general manager himself, this is sorry excuse for a taco cart much less a sit down restaurant with a...
Read moreI have been away from the Chester area for over 10 years. O Charley’s was once a place that almost consistently delivered good food for a fair price. We happened to be in the area and decided to give it a shot without any concerns in receiving a bad meal. Well, times have certainly changed in the time I’ve been away. Everything started off well enough. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer and they were fine. Going well so far. I ordered the prime rib and my wife the ribeye. We both had a salad and bacon smashed potatoes. This is where the train left the rails . The steak and prime rib came out fast enough but I noticed it was the fattiest grisly peice of beef that I’ve ever seen but I decided to o soldier through because I’m not one to complain and hopefully my wife’s steak will be fine. WRONG! Wrong again! As I was chewing like a bull dog on a piece of rawhide, my wife looks at me like she’s just bitten into 2 day old road kill and said try this steak. I was scared but thought maybe it was a little overcooked and under seasoned , which it was, but that was not the problem. When I bit into this charred piece of mysterious flesh I was immediately greeted with a taste that I can only describe as like calves liver. I honestly think that this steak was spoiled. My wife asked me if she should complain and I said you’re going to have to. This is awful and I hope we don’t get sick from it. We summoned the waitress and told her of the issue with the food. She apologized profusely and offered another steak, which we declined, but decided to give the chicken tenders a try because O Charley’s can’t mess up chicken tenders! Can they? Yes! Yes they can! My wife started with the fries and the manager, Chad, came by to check on us. Everything appeared to be ok. I was still gnawing threw my rawhide when the wife decides to try the tenders.and bites into 75 percent overcooked breading with a tough chicken nugget somewhere in there. Chad comes by again and asks about the meal and I told him basically that it sucked and showed him the almost chickenless chicken tenders and he apologized and said we wouldn’t have to pay for the rotten steak. Gee thanks Chad way to do us a solid! I have to say that this was the absolute worst quality of food I’ve ever been served in an O Charley’s and it’s probably in the top 3 all time. I literally feel as if I burned my hard earned money on this slop and definitely won’t return to this location. My advice to Chad and his crew is to take two weeks off and then quit. Please do the folks of...
Read moreHonestly the food was the only saving grace of the night and the music. My server Ms. Kayla P gave us what I can say is a memorable bad experience. I have been a server and a darn good one I would like to think seeing as I have a review on my service 5 star. I understand the struggles and frustrations that come with it, but your guests whom "should feel like regulars" shouldn't feel like we're an issue by simply being there. From the moment we sat down it seemed like she had an attitude. We didn't get bread for 15 minutes and didn't know why was told she thought she gave it to us... mind you she was at the table 3 times already. We never got refills on our WATER that we got with alcohol beverages and I was never told whether I could or couldn't get a salad with my food...I jus didn't get the salad I asked for. Had to ask for more bread while waiting for food to come and mind you the whole time every dish that we got never left the table... it was so cluttered by the end with empty dishes. The menu was never retrieved... I mean I have been a server and my gf is a server and u almost didn't leave a tip off of principle... I spent 106 dollars to feel like a problem? Why because i brought kids? Because it's late and she had to close? I feel like nothing we did should warrant feeling like that. We left after receiving our entree because we felt like a problem for being there and it didn't feel welcoming or comfortable. This place has really good food options and the cooks do well to keep up and get quality food out, it's sad that the server doesn't compliment it. Definitely will be doing to-go next time. I think basic server training shouldn't be a chore and the customer shouldn't feel like the cause of your strife... serving may not be for everyone but don't make the guests suffer for it because that will kill a bussiness just as fast...
