The speed of service is NOT better than the quality of service.
I am a recent frequent customer to the CAVA at Kingstowne. Honestly, they are about the most upbeat group of workers I've seen in a food service arena. Their boss is always a "worker bee" somewhere behind the counter with the same attitude . Attitude reflects leadership! Usually I get the same crew behind the food station and they are great; however, today was different. When I saw my bowl, I noticed the greens seemed a bit wilted (it was the bottom of bin greens), and I said to the first young lady, hey those look wilted and she proceeds to put the grains on and look at me with a blank stare, passes my bowl to the next person so she can tend to the person behind me. That actually caught me off guard. Now, in all fairness, it's lunch time, and it's busy, so a part of me gets wanting to keep the line moving, but speed of service is not better than quality service.
The next young lady at least attempted to hear me out, but she literally couldn't hear my complaint because it was loud in there. She says, I'm sorry I cant hear you, so I repeat my concern, and ask her if she could see what I'm referring to. She glances and says, no, and shrugs trying to figure out what I would like her to do. Now, I've worked in the food industry, and I know the answer is to make it over as soon as a customer identifies the problem. She asks if I'd like her to make it over, but by that time I'm admittedly annoyed, and the line is backing up so I move forward.
I get all my toppings only to get to the dressing and find out the that the "spicy lime" is no more because it was seasonal. Now, I'm having to try dressings (kudos to the gentleman who was patient and let me try a couple) before the next customer comes up and the one before me is checked out. Again, they were in speed mode, but at least in this part of the line they slowed down to address a customer's needs. Needless to say, it wasn't a pleasant experience.
I spoke to the manager, and he was as cordial as always, offered to remake my bowl, but it wasn't the point, plus I was ready to go. The point is speed is great, but you still have to provide quality speed.
Also, CAVA bring back the Spicy...

Read moreDeceptively Overpriced for Inadequate Portions!! This was my second visit to this location. My first visit was wonderful. This second time around, I ordered a Pita meal with braised and spicy lamb, double meat(the same exact item I ordered on my first visit). The young lady who helped me barely put any double meat on my order. I asked her if that constituted for double meat and she said yes. After observing my concern, she then added a tiny additional amount of braised lamb that was barely more than the regular portion of meat that was added. I felt like I was begging for food in pressing the issue, so I let it go. This was really embarrassing. They then gave me a total of $15.57 for just that one item. I inquired why the price was so high compared to the last time I was here when charged a little bit over $12 for the same item. The server told me that the extra lamb was the reason. After I pointed out to her that I was at the same location no more than a month ago and ordered the same thing, she took two dollars off the order. The fact that they attempted to overcharge me for a regular portion of meat that they consider double meat is disturbing.
Please beware of this place and don't let them rip you off for your hard earned money. Don't be modest in pointing out their attempts to rip you off!! I was nice about it this time around, but I will refrain from going to this...
