Well, I have to tell you I feel like I was ripped off.
We came in on a Sunday night two weeks ago and other than one table with a party of five, we were the only other party upstairs. We made a reservation in advance and had I known there would be absolutely no one there, I wouldn’t have done so. The decor is interesting and a bit dated. I’m sure it made sense 10 years ago… they had multiple monitors showing a recording of live music that was upstairs months ago. It would’ve been much better if they had a live feed of the live band that was playing downstairs…
Service was slow and our first cocktail tasted like there was absolutely no alcohol in it. We had no privacy as the bartender was speaking to our server very loudly about what she needed to do for closing side work and also answered her personal call on her cell phone very loudly in ear range. I am a server and I have to say their professionalism was really poor.
We got to sit next to a window where the balcony was, and we saw dirty tables and high chairs piled up on the patio, which was such an eye sore and very unprofessional. It certainly was not something I wanted to be staring at throughout my entire experience.
Additional lying when each course was served, they brought it out on a dirty plastic rolling cart that wasn’t covered with any sort of tablecloth to make it presentable. I’ve never seen anything like it and I’ve been working in restaurants for 13 years...
Additionally, it was EXTREMELY hot in the dining room. When I told the server about it, she called the bartender that left, and they stated that they didn’t know how to make it cooler on the thermostat. They started breaking and shutting down the room at 7:30PM despite us having reservations and once they closed the balcony doors it became unbearably hot. I was sweating profusely and my husband and I couldn’t get up fast enough.
The food was decent for the most part but we had to ask for bread even when the mussels appetizer came out which has a lot of extra sauce that you definitely want to soak up with something and only upon us requesting the breadsticks did it come out. We spent $215.00 for some seafood pasta, a couple drinks mussels mushrooms and a filet with tasteless cold vegetables…. We spent about the same at the vintage press a few days prior.. we would go there every time before ever coming back to this...
Read moreAttention: Owners of Crawdaddy's. I was "standing" in in the back corner of your bar this evening (standing alone not using one of your valuable empty seats) when i was approached by (2) two girls who sat beside me where i was "standing." Yes. There were many empty seats including the (2) seats where I was standing.
First: these (2) girls approached me and engaged me. They were explaining really hard how familiar i looked. Maybe, i was flattered. Not really... again, i was standing alone in the corner of your bar minding mine, own, trying to enjoy the music.
Secondly: these (2) married girls, wanted to know exactly what I do? Simply and respectfully, i explained to them that we are in the "Wow!" Business. Long story short we build iTV apps. Why would another man's wife be so interested in Carlos Dangers business?
Must admit, it was kinda surreal, (2) girls asked me what i did then 3 minutes later, i was asked to leave. Good thing i didn't tell them exactly what i really do or what i really thought of them. : )
Seconds before i was asked to leave. The bartender started griping that i was not allowed to sell my products in her bar. Now! I am blown away! I wasn't selling anything. I was minding mine, own, business. We can't acknowledge people in a public bar? We can't extend our business card to inquiring minds? We can't be happy or passionate or giddy about our business?
A friendly reminder, I did not approach anyone nor engage anyone. But was asked to leave. Again, i was simply asked what i did for a living by (2) strangers in a bar.
No. We are not beloved Corporate America, we simply build streaming iTV apps. No. We do not own the TV channels or the internet. Similarly, to Elvis, impersonators/impostures they obviously borrow/use another mans lyrics. Yes, Crawdaddy's, band also use other famous peoples lyrics. Personally, maybe that would be a form of infringement. I dunno? Who am i to judge.
Finally, was not really being very social, but polite after a long day of serving Visalia's finest.
Memo: Crawdaddy's, you're not the only...
Read moreMyself and two other visiting/traveling nurses arrived at the restaurant and stood at the door until someone greeted us. The gentleman at the door was very courteous and told us he would seat that’s next. As we stood there we witnessed two more couples enter and we’re seated before us. So I asked the gentleman if they had reservations and was told they did not. I continue to wait and finally we were led upstairs. Once seated our waitress, who I later found out was one of the floor managers approached us and was very rude. She raced through our orders often cutting us off mid-sentence…she was not receptive to any questions we had cutting us off before we could even completely ask the question. This went on for about 15 minutes. About the third time she approached our table upon our request so that we could ask additional questions about the menu options she continue to cut us off and I finally asked her to allow us to finish our question before she interrupts us and her off mid-sentence. Finally after being ignored for an additional 15 minutes my party and I decided to leave. When we explain to her why we were deciding to leave one of the reasons was because she kept cutting us off even during that conversation she kept cutting us off. She finally said well it’s not her problem they are short staffed… We went back downstairs told the gentleman at the door who gave us the business card of the owner, Keith Korsgaden and before I could describe the person who treated us very rudely he blurted out her name (Dora Siler) so obviously this is not her first rodeo. I will never go to this establishment again! Wonderful way to treat African American customers. Wonderful way to treat traveling nurses who are here to help your community with the COVID crisis! If your community do not want us to feel as if being mistreated isn’t racially motivated then community needs to start treating everyone equally because that is not what goes on in this community! I am disgusted and cannot...
