After a long day at the Sequoia National Park, my partner and I were hoping to enjoy a good, well-deserved meal here. They close at 10pm and we were going to reach at 9:30pm so we called in earlier to check if it would be fine to come then, else we would’ve simply placed a pickup order or gone somewhere else. They told us there is no wait time, and the last order is at 9:45pm so we should be good and no reservation is required. We relied on this information and were there at 9:32pm. When we went in, they told us no tables are available, however, we can sit at the bar. We were already surprised as this was not what was relayed on phone. As we were going to sit at the bar, another man by the name “Shubham” came and told us we had to leave as they couldn’t serve us any food. We were shocked. We told him we had called in earlier and he said he takes all the calls but never received a call from us. I showed him the call logs but he said that the number didn’t belong to them, even though it was exactly the number listed on Google Maps (I showed him that and he just outright lied). After that, he claimed to not even work there but was just there temporarily?? He also asked us to write bad reviews if we want, so here we are. This was a terrible experience, we were treated horribly and since it was so late, this just left us stranded with no food after a long day of hiking. Would...

We had called the restaurant at 9:12 PM to confirm if there was a wait and about the last order. They said there is no wait and the last order is at 9:45 PM. When we arrived at 9:32 PM, the server, Shubham, said that the chef decided to close the kitchen at 9:30 PM and that they were taking no more orders. When we tried to say that we had called to confirm last order timings, Shubham said he receives all the calls and had not received our call about wait time and last order. When we tried to show him our call log, he said that that’s not the restaurant number. We double-checked with the number on Google and tried to prove our point but he just dismissed it. He then proceeded to say that he doesn’t even work there which is just ??? He also said that if we have a problem with what’s happening, we should leave a bad review which is exactly what we are doing. We had a long day and drove 1 hour 45 minutes for this restaurant and the food. We called to confirm timings and wait. We would have placed a pickup order but were assured we would get a table so we didn’t. It was quite an awful experience and I would not recommend this restaurant and staff to anyone. The clear lack of accountability, staying true to their word and rude attitude just...

I recently visited Hungry Elephant Bar & Grill in downtown Visalia and was thoroughly impressed with the dining experience. This Indian restaurant truly stands out with its flavorful and perfectly spiced dishes that tantalize the taste buds.

The Paneer Tikka Masala was the star of the meal – the paneer was soft and succulent, bathed in a rich, creamy tomato sauce that had just the right level of spice. The Garlic Naan was another delight, fresh out of the oven, with a perfect balance of buttery and garlicky flavors that complemented the masala wonderfully.

I also tried the Veg Samosa Chaat, which was a revelation in itself. The combination of crispy samosas, tangy chutneys, and fresh yoghurt created a symphony of flavors that was both refreshing and satisfying. Accompanied by a side of aromatic rice, the entire meal was a culinary journey through the heart of India.

Not only was the food exceptional, but the ambiance of the restaurant and the attentiveness of the staff also contributed to a fantastic dining experience. Hungry Elephant Bar & Grill is a gem in Visalia for anyone looking to indulge in authentic and delicious Indian cuisine. I can’t wait to return and explore more...
