My wife and I recently visited Quesadilla Gorilla and had a mixed experience. I ordered the chicken and cheese quesadilla on corn tortillas (gluten-free), and my wife got the #1 Evan Boling quesadilla, which features cilantro lime chicken with crispy bacon, fresh jalapeños, and a white cheese blend. The quesadillas themselves were tasty, and we finished them all.
However, the sides were disappointing. My wife ordered the black beans and rice, but the rice was hard and nearly inedible, so it was mostly left untouched. The chips and queso also didn’t live up to expectations, and we couldn’t finish them either.
The atmosphere was unique, as the seating area is shared among four businesses, including a coffee shop, an ice cream place (Scoops), and what appeared to be a breakfast spot. While this setup was different, it was a bit confusing to navigate at first. The bartender mentioned they could make mocktails based on the drinks on the menu, but unfortunately, they didn't offer non-alcoholic beer.
Overall, the quesadillas were the highlight of the meal, but the sides and beverage options left something to be desired. The shared seating area was interesting, but it might not be for everyone. Despite the mixed experience, we might consider returning just for the...
Read moreI was visiting a friend in Visalia and he recommended this place for lunch. There were 4 first timers in my group including me and we all were very satisfied! We loved the unique ordering process, fill out your own checklist of step-by-step ingredients or choose from a list of recommended recipes. We all chose different quesadillas and ended up trading slices with each other so we could try them all. Everything is amazing! The dipping sauces alone are to die for! Try the roasted sour cream! This is one of those small places you'd see on a food or travel show or something, a "foodie" type of place that constantly has people coming in. They had a cool line of merch on display too. My buddy pointed out the owner and I see this guy behind the counter with a beaming smile greeting customers and helping out in the kitchen, over all great vibes here. I'll...
Read moreWe have NEVER had an issue at Quesadilla Gorilla and have been coming here since the first year they opened. The quality is top notch. Their chicken is the best chicken I've ever had. Their cilantro cream sauce and their avocado salsa are drool-worthy and nothing like you've ever had before. It sounds weird, but the quality of the tortillas they use / how they cook their quesadillas is perfect and offers the exact texture I'm looking for in a quesadilla (crunchy and not too soft or soggy). Their weekly specials are very unique and tasty. I love their tiny Downtown Visalia restaurant. It is so cute and welcoming. Their outdoor seating is peaceful and shaded. This place is also really hard to get burnt out on and is really addicting, so be prepared to make many...
