This was our first visit, a Sunday afternoon at 3pm. Parking was tight in this strip mall. Upon entry there were more people than I have ever seen at any eating establishment in Visalia. The staff was very welcoming and had nice smiles. There was a large waiting area, but so many still coming in and all seats filled. They were giving out and calling seating ticket numbers. I use a cane, and a lady promptly had her young girl offer me her seat. I said I could scoot over and we both could fit, and we did. We all had quite a wait. My husband held ticket #44! They were very well organized for a restaurant running at full capacity. There were many employees cleaning floors, tables, and counters at all times. The buffet area was kept replenished and tidy. The foods were displayed attractively. The only reason I rated it a 3 rather than a 4; I am older and walk with a cane. With that in mind, we were not only seated in an area the farthest walk from the buffet, but also with several detours. It was like I was inside a Pac Man game trying to maneuver to the buffet and back! It took me so long that my husband was completely finished with his meal by the time I had just started. (He was having dessert as I was getting my second course) I started with a few appetizers; pot stickers, fried prawns, and a spring roll. All were hot and excellent! An employee that was refilling clean plates smiled and helped me find the small cups for the dipping sauces. Next I got rice, a chicken wing, and honey chicken. The chicken was fine, but the rice was plain with frozen peas & carrots tossed in. They had no flavorful fried rice and I passed on the mountain of plain looking noodles with a few bits of color from cabbage & carrot that was called chowmein/lowmein? The main draw were shrimps done every way imaginable, snowcrab, several types of fish, and VERY mature/large calimari sauteed. (They were the size normally pounded, tenderized, and made into steaks) My husband agreed, and said they were very hard to chew. He Loved all the sushi rolls on display, eating more of those than anything else. They had soft serve ice cream in vanilla & chocolate, which I mixed together. My favorite desserts were the warm sesame balls filled with plum paste?? The crispy, flakey, sugared pastry Palmers were perfect as well. I skipped the puddings that looked from the can as well as all the tiny, flat, cake squares that every Asian buffet on the planet serves. (FYI: Had them before and they are horrible little bites of icky textured cake frosted with the worst artificially butter / chocolate flavor icings and never seen anywhere but at an Asian buffet đ?) Over all we had a nice meal at a great price. A guy brought our bill to the table which included a senior discount we hadn't expected. I probably would have tried a few more items if the trip from our table to the foods hadn't been so difficult. My husband made up for my sparse meal, eating lots of the sushi rolls and fish. Neither of us tried the American fare; roast beef, potatoes, salads, etc. which looked very good. I think we might go back on a less busy day and ask for a better table. Also, if the outside temp wasn't over 100° it would have been nicer inside. Those double doors letting in all that hot, humid air! I like to enjoy hot tea with my Asian meals, but not...
Read moreThis used to be one of our favorite places to eat until today. It wasnât about the food itself but the customer service. My sister has special needs so she has to look around to even know if she likes the place we are at. Take in mind she is only five years old. When we walked in there was a man in the front supervising I believe. when my two sisters walked in and started to look around the man wasnât to happy. He started to tell me and my parents to tell them to come back. I tried explaining to the man the situation we had and how my sister has autism but he didnât care and was insisting for them to come back to do a head count. We tried to explain how my sister wouldnât come back because of her needs and this man kept on repeating he needed a head count. When we were finally able to bring my sister to do a âhead countâ instead of doing in quickly he kept on repeating the same thing. This man was very rude and disrespectful to all of us. I donât recommend this place since they and inconsiderate of the circumstances and would rather lose customers then listen to oneâs needs. I hope this information is helpful and the owners to take action to...
Read moreThere are a few times in life when a meal is so good, service is excellent and it's just a wonderful place for a meal, date.. Excetera. Last night, I did not have one of those meals/dates At - King Buffet. The food was disgusting. Talk about repulsing. Walking in was just disturbing do to the gross odor. Buffet? Yeah right. They had few food selections, it was mostly seafood. I was just not pleased with how long it took to refill the empty trays provided. And the service? Well let's just say they don't provide any other than telling you were to sit (seriously they sat 6 people and my family is not skinny in a table small table with 4 chairs) giving you your first drink other than that you need to continually ask for refills because they don't check and if you need a high chair for you little baby... "They're in the back, you can go grab one if you'd like." They weren't kidding, caring that high chair from one end of the room to the next was a mission with all the kids running around. . If it was up to me I'd put negative 5 stars, unfortunately leaving a review does not...
