Smash Town Burgers 2 — Restaurant in Visalia

I came in with my daughters to try Smashtown Burgers because we were excited to find a spot that serves 100% Halal food — even the “bacon,” which they confirmed was made from Halal beef. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and I appreciated that they double-checked everything for us.

The portion sizes were generous, and the service overall was great, but I did notice a few things that could be improved. As someone who’s worked in the food industry and managed a restaurant that made smash-style burgers, I could tell right away that the griddle temperature might not have been hot enough — the patties didn’t have that nice char or caramelization that gives smash burgers their signature flavor and texture.

The fries and waffle fries also seemed slightly undercooked — they were warm but not very crispy, and the texture was denser than it should be. The food took about 15 minutes to come out, which felt a bit long considering how quick smash burgers typically cook.

Overall, I think Smashtown Burgers has great potential — the concept, service, and Halal menu are all amazing. A few small tweaks to cooking temperature and fry time could really take the food to the next level. I’d love to come back once they’ve had a chance to make those...

Honestly.

Do I recommend ? I’m on the fence about it b/c they are new. But if my experience is like this 4 to 6 months from now. I would not recommend. I had to wait 30 minimum for my spicy burger and fries. Another customer was complaining about one of the cooks not wearing a net. I didn’t see it but they were bothered about it.

If you go. Don’t go during peak lunch hours or within the peak hours of people getting off of work.

The tables were dirty, the trash was too full to place my trash in after I ate.

As of 10/19/2025 - they are hiring and definitely need help. The community is supporting but they are taking too long to complete an order.

I’m not sure if the issue is organization or communication but there is a clear issue.

Personally - I won’t be returning anytime soon. But if you go - just be warned.

Fresh high quality food. 🤌 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hands down. Prices were great for the quality of the food. Their Instagram also promotes a lot of different specials. The day I went they were offering free cones with every purchase. Staff was very welcoming and tentative. They were prompt to clean tables after they were clear. Condiments and napkins were kept stocked. There’s a mobile kiosk you can use to order and they also have an app, which was nice for me to order during my lunch break. The design and layout is one of a kind. the restroom was very clean and had an amazing selfie mirror with multiple lighting settings 🪞 between the floors the walls, and the tables, you can tell a lot of detail went into this place. Definitely a must see if you’re a local Visalian or visiting. I’ve been a few times now and each time they’ve had live games streaming. Go...
