Watson's Veggie Garden — Restaurant in Visalia

I've been to Watsons numerous times over the last decade, I had a private event in the garden a long time ago. There are new owners and there are some good things and some room for improvement.

I like the clean up of the place. It feels less busy with cleaned up walls and a little more spacious walls. However, the blank white walls do make it feel a little lifeless, so a nice balance between that and some art would really be nice. It is better than how much art was in the walls prior.

The food quality has changed a little. The baked lavosh, my personal favorite, is not the same, and I was disappointed at its flavor changes. I do very much enjoy the variety, though. As a Hispanic person, I have enjoyed the vegan Mexican dishes. That is a welcomed change.

The staff are okay. When it gets busy at the food counter, it tends to feel much less personal and sometimes slightly rude; like being rushed to order and move on to the next person. Some of the product knowledge has taken a hit, but I know that will come with time and experience, so that doesn't bother me too much. However, it was nice to be able to ask for advice on a product for a certain need and get some reassuring advice. There isn't the same personal touch and atmosphere that existed prior to the new ownership, but I'm hopeful it will come with time and making it their own.

Overall, it's a nice little healthy spot I enjoy walking to from work and grabbing a healthy meal during a busy day. I'm hopeful it'll improve and the new owners will help make this...

I’ve been going to Watson’s for many years. They prepare wonderful options in the dining area and regularly create new offerings as well. It’s great to have a lunch spot with healthy menu items. The patio area in the back is a little haven. I also love the convenience of the store being next to the deli. They’ve got a great selection of food, drinks, vitamins and other nutritional items. Our favorite menu item to order right now is the Harvest Bowl! Every item is flavorful and fresh! Also love the protein smoothies, the toasted albacore tuna sandwich and the sourdough baked goods!! So many great improvements have been made and the owners are so accommodating and open to suggestions and requests! The garden is an adorable and quiet spot for some quiet time!
