Sigh .. I guess Racism is a thing in Visalia.

How disconcerting.

Ok.. let’s start with a slight more positivity. The fries were

hot and very well seasoned. The burgers - well they

are ok. They’re definitely nothing to write home about

The service however was more cold.

Upon entering this establishment I did not receive any

form of greeting - matter of fact I felt as if I was in a

stare-down contest with the cooks who had their backs

against the counter - not doing anything. And of course

they seen me, the only thing that’s darker in this

establishment was our skin color. So anyway, after the

assumed cashier ended her conversation or debate

about the schedule, or what was on the calendar, or

whatever held her attention on that paper she turned to

us and greeted us.. keep in mind this was about 10 to

15 seconds later. I guess customers aren’t important

enough to say, “ HIIII! I’ll be right with you”.

$19.19 later my partner realized he didn’t have cheese on

his sandwich - so she (the cashier) came to check.

Meanwhile this going on - people that are Mexican and

White are coming into Wimpy’s and they are getting the

warmest of greetings.. (rolls-eyes). So anyway back to

the handicap sandwich.. she (the cashier) checks the

sandwich and takes it to the back and then 30 seconds

later we receive the same sandwich with a slice of cold

cheese on it. I’m like — so we’re not going to redo the

whole thing??

Was she (the cashier) rude? No she wasn’t.

Will I ever come back here again? No.

Will I recommend others to come here again? No.

The fries are good - but they’re not that good to receive

Mediocre service.

If y’all could have seen how those cooks was looking at

Us and refused to speak- ugh! Throw the whole thing

Away. All around Customer service is obviously not on

the menu.

When we left- were we given a farewell...

Wimpys recently got new staff a few months ago and you can really tell the differenc. I work nearby and go there several times a week the last few weeks or month the fries have been horrible. Either they changed there fries and seasoning or they are using old oil to make there fries and there soggy and taste horrible too. I was overcharged on my order too. I asked when I called to place my order if the chicken sandwiches were still 2 for $4 and she said yes and when I went to pay it cost more than when I went last month. I told the cashier and even had my receipt from last month showing I ordered the same things as today and the price hasn’t changed so why am I being charged more and she just ignored it and didn’t know what to do. I paid the amount and didn’t want to give her a hard time because I know she’s new and just a kid but they need to make sure they are not over charging customers. I liked it better with the old staff and the food tasted better. Even the chicken sandwiches have changed twice since the new change. Not sure what’s going on with this...

Finally made it to Wimpy's, after driving by this place for years. Came by after we found out that the business around the corner was closed for the day, and we were wanting to try a new place. My sister had the cheeseburger combo and I had the pastrami burger combo. We sat by the window and people watched. Our meals came out and we were pleasantly impressed by our food. The cheeseburger was prepared as requested, and the pastrami burger was also prepared as wanted...extra pickles and mustard, along with the rest of the trimmings. And the fries were crispy as well. Let me tell you, mmm. The pastrami was delicious and so moist. Not dry like most places. We both enjoyed our meals. I even had room for a chocolate swirl cone. This was better that any other I've had at any of the other places that serve ice cream and such. I will surely remember Wimpy's next time I want a great pastrami burger. Oh, by the way, you'll also find movies and illustrations that hint to why this place has a namesake. Try them out for a burger and a cone. This place has it...

I like this place, I remember dining frequently at the original location in Tulare. I guess a lot has changed since 1993. One thing in particular is the cost of adding mustard to your burger. I just visited the Visalia location this afternoon August 19, 2019, and was charged $.50 for extra mustard on my burger. I don't get it? The condiments are located next to the soft drink dispenser and they are free. I guess it's the labor intensive task of squeezing the precious yellow golden substance from a plastic bottle onto your sandwich. I could be wrong, it could be the owners attempt to recover the high cost of training such demanding skilled workforce. Getting those squirts of mustard on those sandwiches just right is not an easy task. Really! $.50?

Lunchtime in Visalia. Those poor three kids were running their rear ends off trying to keep up with the amount of surging patrons. They did a great job with our order and we loved both the Double and Single Wimpy we ordered. Great Fries! Visalia needs to do a better job at Lunch when Eastern Star is in Town. Pump up the staff. We're here to Eat!
