I was passing by and when I saw the sign I just had to stop in and grab myself some of the absolute best refried beans, rice and Sweet Tea that Waco has to offer, with a side of chips and salsa. I decided since earlier in the week I had dined in, this time I would try their curbside pickup. I parked in curbside parking. Called to place an order and was warmly greeted by a very helpful gentleman who seemed eager to help make my quick dinner a delicious success. He said I would have a 10 minute wait before my order would be ready. After 7 or 8 minutes waiting, I found my order just being completed. I was again warmly greeted by who I presumed to be the gentleman who took my order. He was properly dressed and neatly groomed. He was upbeat, friendly, and quiet helpful in serving me and getting me in and out in a timely fashion. Twice in one week I find myself giving Abuelitas a high score. I feel tonight they deserve to receive a 9 out of 10, an A+ and cannot help but to think ahead at my next opportunity to dine in and find a pleasant new experience awaiting me, this time possibly with their Dessert Menu 🥰❤️🥮🍧🍨🍦🍰🧁🍭🍬🍫. Waco, I think it's quiet possible that I may have found my new all time favorite restaurant where Food, Service and Appeal is Always top of the line and no matter how early or late, they are always awaiting to make your lunch or dinner one you won't soon forget! Next time won't you join me? Well Satisfied...
Read moreI was in Waco on a business trip in the area near Abuelita's. I decided to eat their with my wife and 2 kids. A middle age hispanic male greeted us and sat us down promptly. Our intial order was a large bowl of Caseo with ground beef. The caseo arrived with no beef so we started to eat it bcuz we were hungry. After 1/2 the bowl was gone the same hispanic male brought out the beef and said just pour it inside. I thought that was a little weird. We ordered and recieved our food. My wife and I ordered the same meal. When it arrived it wasn't the description on the menu but we ate it anyway. My daughters ordered the cheese burger and fries. Very disappointed because the meat was super thin and burnt, fries no salt and the girls didn't eat it bcuz they didn't like it. Overall the visit was marginal. There was a slinder white man serving a few people and kept looking at us and didn't even say hi. We were so uncomfortable so we decided to leave. More that likely we will not go back. You have just one shot to make a great first impression. Your establishment failed miserably. I don't want to say the reason is because we are people of color but I like to think that's how they treat most of...
Read more⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Delicious food, thoughtful service, and a spacious setting—what more could you ask for? We had a great meal at this restaurant, and I have to highlight a few standout dishes. The bacon-wrapped shrimp were cooked perfectly—crispy, flavorful, and absolutely addictive. The Botana plate is a great option if you're craving variety, and Abuelita’s Special was both comforting and delicious, a true standout on the menu. Service was excellent throughout our visit. The staff were attentive in all the right ways—generous with chip baskets and quick with drink refills, which made us feel genuinely cared for. That kind of hospitality makes such a difference. The restaurant itself is surprisingly spacious. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and we didn’t encounter any wait time, even with a busy-looking lot. It’s a fantastic spot for groups or family outings. Highly recommend if you're looking for great food, friendly service, and a comfortable...
