For some reason I didn't want pizza and I guess the Colonel's latest ad blitz for his $5 fill up meals had planted the seed for trying some KFC chicken again. I usually do Bojangles but I just wasn't in the mood for all the spiciness of their chicken. KFC is generally good food, but the Wake Forest KFC had treated me so bad the last time I was there that I had not been to any KFC in over 5 years! The last time I went to this location, all I got was bad attitude, cold food and a screwed up order. I told myself that they would never get another dime of my money or my patronage.
Well after sharing all about my previous disappointment experienced years ago, I am glad to report that my latest visit was the total opposite of the previous one. I arrived about 20 minutes before their closing time of 9pm. A few other patrons seemed to be enjoying themselves as I entered the dining room. I promptly greeted also the front counter. I had a couple of questions about ordering and they were answered nicely with no bad attitude. I placed my order and was told that if I wanted a large order of potato wedges, it would take about 4 minutes to cook because there were not enough on the line to fill the order. I said, no problem, they are best when hot and fresh so I don't mind waiting. I used the restroom, came out and received my order fresh, hot and correct and in the amount of time I was quoted.
I work in food service and it can be a thankless job. I wanted to take the time to relate my good experience with the Wake Forest KFC to others because even 20 minutes before closing and after ordering something that had to be specially cooked, I got GREAT timely service, GOOD food and ZERO bad attitude. So hats off to the local Liuhn owned KFC franchise here in Wake Forest. Read moreI pulled up to this place at 8pm and the front doors were closed. So I went to the drive thru. Not having eaten at a KFC in at least a decade, I had questions about the menu. The was very rude answering me. I ordered without having my questions completely answered. Then when I pulled around to the window, I mentioned that she didn't have to be rude, as I had told her I was new and didn't know the menu. She immediately asked me if I want to speak to the manager, and I responded no, that I just wanted my food and a receipt. She called another person over (apparently not the manager). She asked me what the problem was, and I politely told her the same thing I told the first girl. Then she called the actual manager, despite me not asking for this. The manager came over and asked me again what the problem was, and once again I politely told her the same thing, that the girl was rude when I asked questions about the menu. She said, what do you want me to do about it, and I said just give me my food and a receipt. I was told to pull around to the front. The food came out, she gave it to me and left, but when I inspected the bag, I saw no receipt. So I pulled around again and asked for the receipt. When she gave it to me I asked her name. She asked me why I wanted it, and I responded "to complain about my experience". She just closed the window and refused. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER! I as his daughter took him back the 4 pieces of chicken and two french frys he had received another twenty min dr. When we explained they gave us the wro g order the girl was very rude. "was it a 12 piece" she ssid, "yes" i replied. She turned around and tried to give us the mistaken meal that had been on the counter out of temperature for 40 min. I politely ask for the order to be remade. This girl went to the fryer and put the tenders that had sat on the counter foe forty min BACK INTO THE FRYER! HEATED THEM UP! Then repacked it in the same box and tossed them on the cou ter at me. I said thanks may i have your name for customer review and she refused to speak. This kfc hs the worst customer service then ive seen in my entire 30 years in management. The number of rules violated by putting that chicken back in the fryer alone show no courtesy let alone how rude they are!
