My family and I decided to try this restaurant after hearing great things about it. However, after the experience that we had last night, there is no way that we will EVER return to Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen restaurant, and I wouldn't even recommend it to anyone. We were seated a few minutes after checking in (we were on the wait list for a party of 4), and our waitress started off on a good note by taking our drink orders, providing us with 4 warm croissants, and giving us a moment to look over the menu (given that we mentioned that we were new to Cheddar's). But then it quickly took a turn for the worse. The full rack of ribs that came out tasted like beef jerky and were completely bone dry and dehydrated! We had beef jerky before that was more tender than their ribs! We had to keep drinking cola in order to swallow the ribs, and don't get me started on the sides; they were in a portion size fit for a young toddler's consumption (an equivalent of 2 tablespoons), a tablespoon of "unseasoned" rice instead of "seasoned" rice, and a tablespoon of "over-salted" mashed potatoes. Also, my toddler's Penne pasta had little to no sauce with just a dusting of cheese, and the noodles were just as dry as the ribs! The only food that tasted halfway decent was the burger and fry meals that we ordered. In addition, the waitress came back and asked us if we wanted refills, and then took half an hour to bring them to us! RIDICULOUS!!! We quickly realized that the reason for the delay was due to her and several other employees walking around, socializing, and paying more attention to their phones than to the customers. When she finally came back to ask us if we wanted to order dessert or food to go, we politely declined the food and asked for 2 to-go cups of Coca-Cola and 3 to-go boxes. She quickly brought them back and then pulled up the check on the payment machine (tablet). She asked us if our check looked accurate and stood there, attempting to find out how much of a tip she would receive. We reviewed the check and questioned the $3.99 game charge, and she rushed off, stating that she could have it removed. She later came back, stating that the updated check was now in the payment system and that we were able to continue with the transaction. We paid our bill, grabbed our food and drinks, and quickly exited the building. We were so relieved to be out of there! In the back of my mind, all I kept thinking was that this place is in desperate need of a restaurant makeover from top to bottom by the one and only Chef Gordon Ramsay. It was truly a kitchen nightmare, or should I say restaurant nightmare! They desperately need to start from scratch, and if anybody can get their restaurant into tip-top shape, Gordon Ramsay can! My advice to anyone who is thinking about trying this restaurant is: DON'T DO IT! Spend your hard-earned...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreInitially, I was so excited because I walked into the restaurant at 8:04 pm, and was told that there was no wait for a party of 6 and that I could be seated (at 8:05) even though the rest of the party had not arrived. The remainder of my party arrived at 8:15. We sat for almost a half hour before we pressed the "call server" button on the electronic bill device on the table because no one had come to our table to take our order. My friend stopped a server at 8:38 pm and asked if she knew who or where our waitress or waiter was because still no one had come to our table. At 8:42 a server stopped by our table and asked if we had been helped. When we said "no" she said that she would get our server for us. At 8:46 another server also asked if someone came to our table yet. We replied "no" and he said "okay" and left. At 8:50, when our server finally came to the table (I wish I knew her name but I don't believe we got it), she did not display great or even good customer service. It just seemed as though the entire order taking process was rushed. My friend was cut off in mid sentence while she was inquiring about ordering her own croissants. I understand that our server was upset because they had her "running all over the restaurant" but we should not have had to suffer and take the bad attitude because of how they were treating her. She could have been the best server in the world but we would have never known. At 9:15 we received water with no straws by a different server. At 9:20 a friend asked for the manager because at this point we did not receive alcoholic beverages, appetizes, or honey butter croissants. At 9:27 the manager apologized for the long wait time blaming the issue on employees that did not communicate to each other and he would compensate us by getting something taken off our bills (which turned out to be the 1 $6+ to $8+ drink that each person ordered). At 9:27 another waiter came with our drinks. At 9:34 we received our food but no appetizer. My appetizer came at 9:48. We did receive a complementary broccoli and cheese casserole, which was a very nice gesture but the damage was already done. We literally rushed to eat our food and drink our beverages (some of them alcoholic) because we were planning on leaving around 9:45 (but actually left a little after 10) because most of my party had young children to get back to and we have work in the morning. This was supposed a joyous occasion because we were celebrating my birthday but if I would have known that Cheddar's would have ruined my night, I would have just stayed home. Please do better Cheddar's. Do better by your employees and by...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy first and last time eating at this place it was so terrible I donāt even know where to begin. We had no issue being seated and the host was very friendly and polite. The server came over with the complementary croissants and immediately said ā iāll be back with your watersā. The server didnāt even ask what we wanted to drink and just immediately picked water for us and when we asked if we could get something different he acted as if it was strange we wanted a different beverage than water. Server told us that any appetizers could be ordered at the table pos system and everything else could be ordered through him. We placed an order for an appetizer of spinach dip with no sour cream through the table pos as instructed. Food eventually came out and we still had no appetizer even though it was placed BEFORE we ordered food. We told the waiter and he looked at the table pos to see if we were even telling the truth and he acted surprised as if he had no idea we ordered an appetizer. Our appetizer came out after our food was delivered and it had sour cream on it even though we clearly marked no sour cream. The food being described as disappointing would literally be an understatement. I ordered the smokehouse burger and the burger brought to me was clearly not it. When the waiter came back I informed him that I received a burger that was not even close to what I ordered and he took it and looked at it and walked away without saying a word. He came out with the ā correctā burger less than 5 mins later which is a clear indication a new one was not made. Waiter either grabbed the wrong burger initially and just grabbed my correct one or the kitchen just added the correct items and heated it up. My friends steak was so dry and her broccoli was chewy. Baked potato wasn't even baked, more like microwaved for a minute. The waiter was awful, never asked if we needed refills, any condiments, anything at all. Seemed very disinterested and only came to the table to take order or bring food and to go boxes. Never checked on us otherwise. Womenās bathroom is a nightmare. Flooded water all over the floor of the entire bathroom, throughout each stall and only 1 stall was working. Tiles coming up on the floor and dirty toilet paper everywhere as if nobody bothers to clean the bathroom.
This place is absolutely filthy and terrible. The food and service are horrible and we could not wait to leave. If I could give 0 stars I would. Avoid this place- you get better service and quality at a...
