I went there with my wife and kid, we shopped per usual going through isles and adding items to our cart. As we were checking out (in self check out because we didn’t have that many items) the receipt printed out wrong so my wife asked for assistance of a reprint since we know it’ll get looked at before we exit the store. A female employee with greasy blonde streaky hair radioed another employee to stand by the door as she was printing but kept looking towards the back of the store, as we were walking out, my wife assumed someone was having a medical emergency because she could feel the tension and we were TURLY unaware of what was going on at that moment. We got to the exit and there was a fairer skinned family that spent maybe 3 seconds getting their receipt looked at and then they walked out. THEN greasy head female came running down as if she was waiting for emergency service/ or assistance to arrive but she just stood by the door. There was a long haired Caucasian male with a mustache and tiny glasses who checked us out next (So now there is two people standing to check us out). HE COUNTED EVERY SINGLE ITEM IN OUR CART (physically touched each item to count) while greasy headed girl stood there and watched. It clicked after we left and I’m so happy we caught it late because I didn’t want my young black daughter to read our feelings of coming to terms of being profiled. Poor judgment of the employees and them handling the situation. It was disgusting for them to think we were stealing items when we paid for things with A FOOD STAMP CARD ($200 worth) and paid with a debit card for our hot food item. If you buy deli meats, bjs charges about half what grocery stores charge, and the better warehouse club doesn’t have a deli. Out family doesn’t eat deli meat, so my review is based on bjs minus the deli and wooing us back with same day 2 hour delivery. We signed up again and immediately placed an order with their partner instacart, and they verified there was a delivery time for that day... we were surprised since it was 5 on a Sunday and GOD closes bjs early on Sunday for some reason. Our delivery was to occur at 730, which got bumped immediately to 830. At 815 Instacart called and said they were at the store but they were closed.
There’s a first time for anything; There’s a last time for everything.
BJs, please do not promise things that you can’t immediately, even the first time, deliver. Also maybe change your name to Berkeley and Jensons... but that’s another discussion. Do not team up with lazy companies that can’t deliver what you promised. If you do team up with other companies, let them know your store hours... because even if we know based on shopping there 4 years ago, your delivery partner doesn’t and can’t use the internet or the phone to find out.
Also how instacart planned on delivering within two hours if they didn’t show up to the store until over three hours later is beyond me. Luckily companies face very little competition these days and people are getting much more patient and...

I bought 5 bags of grinder rolls for my son’s first birthday party, I did curbside pickup because its easier with my young son. I got home and noticed the next day that all the rolls were moldy and I had thrown my reciept away. I wanted to exchange them, I got to the front desk and Adriane was working. She gave me an attitude because I had no reciept. She huffed and puffed while she called for help and then she told me to wait ‘over there because thats going to take a while.’ Meanwhile there was a line behind me. She helped 2 people before trying to help me. I finally spoke up and asked when she plans to help me, and she said that ‘thats going to take a while.’ I asked why she was being so rude to me, she gave me no answer but continued to be rude. Eventually she got my rolls rung up and needed a manager override, so manager ‘bonnie’ came and hit the wrong button which cancelled my entire order. No apology from anyone. What should have taken 5 minutes took 20 and not a single person was kind to me. I will be cancelling my membership and I will never go back here, I hope these people are fired.
