The food by itself would earn 5 stars alone. . . so long as you always get it. My boyfriend and I have been ordering food from and dining in at Peking Garden for almost four years now. We have gone back to this little gem so often, more so than we have gone to Taki or Shogun in Macon or Zen or Sushi Thai in Warner Robins. Why? Because of the reasonable prices, great food, and mostly excellent service. In the beginning convenience could be added to that list, as we were residing in Byron. It was all around a great place for us to eat and I would frequently grab some sushi from them to munch on before going to work. We recently moved further away, but any time one of us is up that way, we have still ordered carry out from Peking. . . and the past two times something has been wrong regarding the food packaged for us. The first time an eel sauce was missing. A downer, but not a deal breaker as we normally don't have to pay for such a thing. But THIS TIME an entire order of Crab Ragoons was missing from the two bags we picked up. Something that we HAD PAID FOR, THAT WASN'T IN THE BAG. Not to mention the wonderfully stale fortune cookie that was put in with the rest of the sushi. To be a bit punny, how unfortunate. We're sure the Ragoons would have been delicious, if only we had paid for them, and it is my personal hope that whoever is putting these orders together for carry out really steps up their game, before Peking goes from my most recommended place to a place where simple negligence not only makes me feel like money is being taken from me for no product (ie stolen), but also taints some wonderful memories the both of...
Read moreI went here for the first time with two of my girl friends. Someone sat us down instantly bc there weren’t very many customers. We got our drinks pretty fast and the man that took our order was nice. We got gyoza to share and that was super tasty. I ordered the hibachi vegetable and the spider roll.
First off: the miso soup was delicious. BUT when the spider roll came, i tasted an entire roll and had to spit it out. It tasted very strange, and not like any spider roll I had ever had before. It was gritty and gross and made my mouth feel weird like I was having an allergic reaction (I’m only allergic to nuts, and there should NOT be any nuts in that roll). I’ve never spat out my food before like that.
Second: the hibachi vegetable had two surprise shrimps in it. Why? Also, the rice was kind of gross and had way too much egg in it. I could’ve made a better dish at home.
Overall, I liked the gyoza and the miso soup. Everything else was disgusting and made my stomach hurt really really bad. I’m not normally one to complain but this wasn’t a good experience. If you want good Asian food, go to Macon. Macon has some of the best Asian restaurants in middle Georgia. Don’t waste...
Read moreOrder at your own risk! This place used to be my favorite in town... used to be. I ordered online and put in to use my credit card. They never called to get the number so I had to pay cash. It took an hour to get me the wrong food! I ordered online and they still managed to mess it up!! They left off items, didn't include any sauce for the "cheese wontons" and what I did get was awful. The only thing I could eat was the wontons since they got my main order wrong and it was something I don't like. Those were inedible. They were soggy, overcooked, and greasy. There was no cheese left in them they had been so overcooked. They had been put into the box so hot it melted but by the time I got them they were soggy and barely warm. I was hungry so I tried eating them but even starving I could only manage to eat two. This is not the first time they have completely messed up my order. The food here used to be good, but it has gotten so bad at this point that I will not be ordering...
