I love Penn Station, but will never eat at this restaurant as long as the night manager Brian is employed there. I received a mailer the other day from Penn Station with coupons, so having patronized the sub shop before it gave me the perfect excuse for me to go there for dinner this past Sunday night however the experience was everything but. My husband and I enter the restaurant to a completely wet and extremely slippery floor that was currently being mopped by who we later find out to be the manager, Brian. There were no signs on the floor to state that the floor was water either. The floor was so slippery my husband had to grip firmly on the railing to remain up right. Having been to this location before the employees are always eager to mop the floor at the earliest moment possible, but they normally leave the line areas dry, however this time is was not the case. Walking into the store to be welcomed by a completely wet floor you'd imagine we were walking in seconds before closing, yet we walked in at 8:15 pm, almost a full 45 minutes before closing, so not nearly enough to be mopping the entire floor. There were two employees working, one cooking on the grill and helping the customer before and the manager mopping the floor. The cook did inform us that we would be helped shortly. Yet the manager don't stop mopping to help out, but continues finishing mopping the floor to completion. When the floor was finished the manager walked up to the register without washing his hands that he just used to ring out the mop with walked up to the register to take orders. Before taking any orders he informs everyone that all orders at this time will be carry-out, the time was now 8:24 pm. Throughout the ordering process the manager was very pushy and rude. It was like he had somewhere else to be. After taking our order and the three others in the restaurant he informed the cook to take not more order even though it was only 8:28 pm-ish. He went from register to register to serving food and drinks without ever washing his hands or using glove, one of the other patrons later stated that she saw him cross contaminated raw and cooked food. After everyone had paid we all sit and waited. 10 minutes into the wait, the manager informed the other three there was no turkey and they could get a refund or change their meat. Though I could see three whole turkeys in the fridge. When the customers asked why they were not informed earlier and why he was rushing everyone, instead of apologizing he just blaming the customers for coming in and they were closing in 30 minutes. He even insulted the customers and acted very arrogantly and unapologetically about being rude, pushy and unprofessional. He even turned away two customers that come in 20 minutes before closing. He repeatedly justified his rude behavior due to the fact that we all come in 30 minutes before closed, basically stating that good service should not be expected. We all ended up canceling our order, which more than like total around $100 due to the fact that there was the lack of ingredients, his rudeness and most importantly lack of proper food safety practices. Though the cook was clean and much more professional and polite than the manager and I had no problem with the food his handled, the manager served and touched our fries with the same unwashed hands. So my only thoughts were if he was this unsanitary in plain sight, how much worst is it when no one is looking? He also would not give back the buy one, get one coupon we had, even though we cancelled our order. He also would not give out a district manager name. I'm really disappointed because I was really excited when this location opened up so close to my house because I love Penn Station. However, due to the blatant disregard for customer service that this manager presents and the lack of cleanliness and food safety he practices I'm afraid to eat at this restaurant while he was...
Read moreI'm extremely irritated with this location right now. So tonight, my husband and I went to this location and was helped by a young African American male. We had to repeat our order atleast 3 times because he couldn't hear us over how loud there music was. Ordered 2 sandwiches. 1 large steak and cheese, mayo, onion mushrooms. 1 chicken cordon Bleu no honey mustard. 1 medium fry, 1 small fry, 2 regular drinks. Almost $40. He gives us 1 cup, and we said we had 2 drinks. He said we were only charged for one, so he rang us up again for a drink. We receive our order, and I figured, our order wasn't hard and didn't check it. Well, the way it was bagged, I would have dumped our fries everywhere. Low and behold, I get home, and my sandwich is covered with honey mustard. The ticket doesn't say it, even though I asked 3 times.but, on each sandwich, there's a piece of paper attached. Each ticket had a drink on it too. Thanks for ruining my sandwich and charging me for a 3rd drink I didn't get. Thanks guys. Also, I felt sympathy at first. When we entered, they were busy, we saw only 2 people quaking. But all of a sudden 2 more employees appear. So they are simply okay with letting other workers struggle. Thanks...
Read moreForget Jimmy John, this is the best sub place. I got the Philly and it was absolutely mouthwatering. From the smell to the taste, delicious is an understatement. There's something undeniably magical about biting into their Philly. It’s a symphony of savory satisfaction with bread that’s just the right amount of chew and softness, soaking up the juices without falling apart. The meat is juicy and seared to perfection with the perfect accompaniments of sautéed onions that bring a mellow sweetness, their golden edges whispering of time spent on a hot griddle. Banana peppers cut through the richness with a tangy zing, adding just the right amount of heat to keep things interesting. And the mayo? Creamy, cool, and unapologetically indulgent it ties everything together like the final brushstroke on a masterpiece. This is no ordinary sub, this is poetry in motion, it’s a mood, a feel good moment that starts with the first bite. Even the French fries were golden and perfectly crispy. Clean atmosphere with lots of room to sit. The staff are very friendly and help you pick out the right thing for you because there is simply too many good choices on the menu. Will definitely come...
