Many positives about this place: 1- Very clean, especially for a buffet place. 2- Delicious foods for very reasonable prices. 3- Great customer service. 4- Convenient parking. 5- The best of all is the Extended buffet hours, from Open to Close. Wow! That is a unique and rare practice in the Indian buffet industry. Very humble and generous offer by the owners! Great decision.
Since I was not feeling hungry enough and since I wanted to take advantage of passing by the place, I chose to take out from buffet. I was given a 9x9 foam box with 3-sections and offered to have my naan separately.
It would be nicer to have the box with no sections, but I can guess why they do that. Also, it would be nicer to have an extra small box for desserts and another extra small box for salads, as you cannot combine cold salads and desserts in the same box with hot foods. I cannot tell if they allow this, as I did not ask. But, it will be great to offer this as a standard without waiting for customers to ask, just like they offered to give naan separately.
On the menu, they had beef karahi, butter chicken, chicken 65, tandoori chicken, biryani with chicken tikka kabab, lentil soup, chick peas masala, plain rice pilaf, fried eggplants, and a few other choices like potatoes and peas dish, that were not attractive to me. I cannot remember the salad and dessert options offered on the buffet as I did not have room in the box for those. I did not pay attention.
Although I liked the taste of their dishes, I wish the beef pieces were more tender in the beef dish. It takes a lot of chewing before you would like to swallow the meat. The chicken cubes in the butter chicken dish were quite dry although they were inside lots of sauce. I think it will be a better choice if they can use thigh meat instead of breast, or do something to make the breast more enjoyable, like making the dish from tandoori chicken cubes or marinating them to make them juicier and softer. The biryani was very delicious. I like the fried eggplants too. Overall, I enjoyed the taste of all the dishes that I took.
I asked if I could take a cup of masala chai and I did, included in the price of $12.99 for the weekday buffet.
I cannot wait to come back with more appetite to enjoy their weekend...
Read moreWe were visiting from chicago and I’m So glad our friends live nearby because we definitely found our favorite place to eat when we return. I came in around 4:30 to order takeaway, and I was so sad to see the place empty. But then I noticed they do lunch buffet (which I’m used to going to those here in chicago) and I realized I was there at the before before dinner time.
Everyone was so warm and welcoming. I had a beautiful full bodied tasty chai while I waited and got to take more home with me. Had some good conversations with a couple people and really appreciated the care and attention to detail. Brought the food back to my friends’ home and there was not a disappointed person in the bunch of us. I think our friends will be coming in soon too with their kiddos because of all the vegetarian options :)
I did my typical go to’s in order to power me up for what ended up being a long drive home to chicago that night. Feeling full and good with home cooked goodness helped, it really did.
The flavors were all so complex and layered, even the mild versions for the kids were awesome. Little tip: The chicken tikka I would order spicy and not just medium. And it’s more tomato based than cream which I loved personally. The Baingan Bharta was probably my favorite I’ve ever had- the roasted smokiness of the eggplant really came through- which I haven’t seen in a lot of other places. I’m still holding onto to some tonight as a cold dish because it was THAT GOOD!
The aloo ghobi was pretty standard and good for my crew, I think next time I will order medium instead of mild is all. But it was good.
Full bellies and happy hearts over here. Can’t wait to return again and...
Read more5 stars are not enough! The food was over-the-top delicious, the servings are huge, and the customer service was superb. Our server, Dina greeted us, gave excellent suggestions, and made sure that we had everything we needed and more. We had the Beef Saag - piping hot (so hard to find these days), with tender beef and fragrant spinach. The spice was just perfect (thank you for your recommended spice level, Dina), the dish was memorable. We also had Chicken Biriyani - again piping hot with spicy, tender chicken and the perfect amount of spice. We are from New York and wish we could find comparable food here. The owner (I assume he was the owner) came out to visit with us to see if we were enjoying our meal. What a nice touch.
You must try the rice pudding - it is worth the calories and may be the best I've ever had. Did I mention how large the portions were? We left full, but Dina sent us home with enough food to have leftovers for breakfast for two days (we were staying in a hotel and couldn't go out for breakfast when we had such deliciousness in our fridge).
As wonderful as the food was, the customer service was upper margin. We can't wait for our next visit. We...
