I tried Estia for the first time yesterday because I'd read so many good reviews and it's close to my place of work and I could order online (great for a get-and-go type lunch).
I ordered a customized wood fired pork gyro (on their freshly made white pita bread) and a small Greek fry (which comes with spices, olive oil and feta cheese on them).
When I got to the restaurant, my food was ready and so the cashier confirmed my order via the attached pick-up slip and I was able to quickly pay and be on my way back to the office.
However, when I got to the office and pulled out the food the fries were not Greek fries but normal fries. I called Estia to see if I could get a credit for my next visit but to my utter surprise, the manager asked for my address and said he would deliver the correct fries to me! That blew me away and told me how important customer service is to them.
When the corrected fries arrived, I was told that not only did the manager include the fries I'd ordered, but he had up-sized them to a large AND had provided me with dessert.
Wow. Just absolute wowness. I have NEVER had a restaurant go that far out of their way to make sure a customer is happy and they won me over. (Note: the gyro was very tasty as were the regular fries, the Greek fries and the one of the TWO desserts he gave me - a custard inside phyllo dough and no, I was not able to eat all of it at once and still have yet to finish the fries and other dessert!)
I will definitely...
Read moreI want to just tell you a quick story, I am a Account Advertising Manager and was working my new area, and learning some of the new businesses in my area. i came across this restaurant Estia and decided to go in to see if they were doing any advertising with many other social medias. I could not help in seeing how clean and the smell of the food as i was waiting to talk to the manager. I decided to try a sandwich. This was the best experience and the best Greek sandwich i have ever had in my life. Trust me, I am in lots of restaurants everyday with my job and the travel to so many different businesses. This is the first original real Greek Sandwich that is 100% authentic. I am so hook on this place, I have to have this sandwich every week since stumbling upon this new area. You can change up with Chicken or Lamb. They put everything on it what every you want to met your tastebuds. I even ask customers and they said the same story that I have from coming the first time. I can assure you, if you try it, you have to come back again. The staff is very friendly and the manager George is one of the nicest professional people you can meet, and he make sure that your sandwich is going to make you come back again and again. If you want a new taste and a big sandwich that is fulfilling. Go no other place than Estia in Troy. I can Promise you will remember this review and...
Read moreI’ve lived in Athens, Greece and was so excited to check out this place after reading the reviews. I got The Real Greek pita gyro, and in Greece, they cut the meat of the souvli on the spot, vs. here the prep guy took the meat from the container which didn’t look the same. It was darker color, looked curlier and not the same type of meat that was in the souvli. I asked if he was using the correct meat to which he replied yes, and I was disappointed. I’d have also preferred that servers used their tongs to pickup tomatoes, and fries instead of hands (with gloves). The gyro assembly was good, but the meat was way too salty and even a bit spicy. Salt overpowered all the other tastes. So it certainly didn’t taste like a real greek souvlaki and I won’t go back for that reason. Overall place was good and unless you are picky like me about souvlaki, you would probably enjoy their...
