I would love to love this place and always try to support local, I have been very disappointed when going here. My group of 4 showed up for the Mediterranean Wine Tasting on June 15th, we each paid $40. We were served a charcuterie board of Mediterranean Fare, but let me tell you there was really nothing on the board. We were served the same board that the parties of 2 were served. There were 11 people thereforthe Tasting. The entire 11 people were served 1 bottle for ea. Wine that was for the tasting which meant we literally got maybe 2 sips. That wasn't the worst part. When we asked if we were allowed to purchase a bottle after the tasting and enjoy it as a group (this was 8:30) after the tasting, they said no, they wanted to try and clear everyone out by 9:15-9:30!!! They close at 10! Mind you there were other patrons in there drinking wine just socially. We also asked if we could have another slice of cheese or something for our small charcuterie board and we were told no, the chef has left. Really, no one in the entire place knows how to cut a piece of cheese? It also was sooo hot in there and asked if there was something they could do about the temperature. The manager looked and threw her hands in the air and said "what do you want me to do?!?!" We weren't the only patrons complaining, several others couldn't believe it either. We all eneded up leaving, including the other groups and walked down to DVT (Dublin Villiage Tavern) and continued to give our patronage there. Unless something changes I won't be making another stop there and our entire group feels the same way and have told...
Read moreI’m not sure what happened to this place. Last year I visited Coast Wine House a few times over the summer and it was a treat. It was a great wine bar in Dublin. I love the location, it is a short walk from downtown. The staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and positive. The wine selection was diverse and we could sample any wine.
I decided to go back last weekend and I was very disappointed.
First off, it was Friday night and the place was empty. (First red flag)
We took a seat in the back and it took a while before the waiter came over to us (around 10 min). We got water and I asked to try a wine they had on the menu.
The waiter told me they aren’t allowed to give out samples. He said he would get in trouble.
I was confused because this is a wine bar with a limited menu that rotates monthly. So I guess management expects the customer to know about the wine on their menu before they walk in.
Their menu doesn’t even include a flavor profile for any of the wines.
I spent $15 on a glass of wine and because there was no flavor profile on the menu and I wasn’t able to taste it, I didn’t like it.
No doubt if I had been able to sample the wine, my date and I would have spent $60 plus there.
But we split one glass and left.
I’m sorry I hope this place changes and becomes...
Read moreThis is my favorite spot in Ohio! Also a great venue to have a small gathering. They do a great job catering to your event and the service is great, but there are a lot of hidden costs that aren’t explained before booking.
The negatives are … you have to put a $75 deposit down for a small gathering space (20 or so people), but it wasn’t clear that it was for “rental space” which doesn’t go towards your minimum. The minimum was $400 for two hours BEFORE tax! So for two hours it’s over $500 plus $75. It was hard to meet this minimum with 20 people only for two hours! Plus, they added $15 per bottle for every bottle opened! This wasn’t explained well before I booked, so I wanted to share in case someone else does decide to use Coast as a gathering space. This shouldn’t steer you away - just be prepared to pay around $300 an hour all said and done. I will definitely be a customer again (especially because we had to buy a gift card with not being able to make the minimum), but we won’t do another small gathering at that price. That’s a little steep for a...
