Alright, we’re at Gallo’s Pizzeria in Dublin, inside the North Market at Bridge Park. I only tried the Margherita, so I’m not talking about their cheese or any of the specialty pies. This review is strictly for the Margherita.
Let’s get to it. The sauce is the star. It’s made with Roma tomatoes and it’s fantastic. Great flavor, natural sweetness, a little tang, and perfectly seasoned. The consistency is what really impressed me, not watery, not sloppy, just clean and smooth. It sits right on top and ties everything together. Easily one of the best sauces I’ve had in Ohio.
The crust is thin New York-style with a crisp bite and a beautiful char. No flop. Holds strong. You get crunch on every bite and a nice chew on the finish. It’s cooked right and has real flavor, not just a delivery platform.
Everything tastes fresh. From the basil to the crust to that killer sauce, it all works. My only issue is the mozzarella. What’s there is quality, but there’s barely enough. It’s so thin you could read your Bible through it. Just give me more cheese and we’re talking about a serious contender.
Now here’s the part that might throw people off. The price. It’s a really good pizza, no question. But when you get the bill, you pause. That’s what I think is keeping people from going back as often. You start doing mental math like, “Was that slice really worth what I just paid?”
Final score: 8.0 out of 10. Great crust, incredible sauce, just needs more cheese and a little less...
Read moreOrdered food from here in the food hall. Unintentionally sat down to eat across from this place and saw the cashier, food preparer, and dishwasher came from behind their booth to pet, pickup and hug a dog from a person that they appeared to be familiar with brought by. After playing with the dog for at least five minutes, they went back behind the counter and resumed their assigned duties. Not one person washed their hands. None of them wore gloves which would not even have justified the fact. The person preparing orders didn’t even wash her hands. That is VERY unsanitary, imagine the germs on their hands from the dog, hair on the shirts from picking the dog up falling into your food as no aprons are worn. Would never eat here again based on...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars I would! I was excited to try the GF pizza option at the North market Dublin location. I was disgusted by watching the guy working make my pizza with no gloves on! He was using his phone and making my pizza at the same time! It is uncleanly. I requested he wear gloves prior to making my pizza because I seen him making other peoples food with no gloves, he did NOT put gloves on. I asked for a refund and notified the manager as to why I was not going to eat the pizza. No apology was given and I watched while the guy continued on...
