Tbo, today isnt my first time to this restaurant-but today was my first time stopping in for a weekday lunch and today it was a "very" busy 1pm Friday at Kitchen Social. Every seat was taken! We had no reservation. I was worried we would be stuck with waiting for a bar counter seat as that is always walk in friendly.
Not only was the inside dining room packed- The outside patio was packed. We decided to wait. A short 15 minutes later we were sat near the kitchen. Almost immediately a server named Mike welcomed us and gave us some menu suggestions.
While my guest figured out what to order I ordered the eggplant meatballs for the table and decided to have the Kitchen Social side salad- adding avocado and blackened shrimp. My guest chose the salmon entree (excellent choice).
As someone who has dined here 4-5 times in the past few months I can say that you will consistently get good service here. The servers all hustle here. They are constantly moving and eyeing who needs what before you need to ask. All the staff I have encountered have had excellent personalities and have added to to experience.
The eggplant meatballs are my new obsession. They are insanely good. You get maybe six decent sized meatballs. They are made with a pesto and the sauce they are served with is so good we sopped up every last drop of it with the bread that accompanied it. My salad was perfect! Its one of the smaller salads they offer but it still was large enough that I was almost too full to finish it. Almost! Yum. My guests salmon was done to her liking. What is nice is they ask how the guest likes the salmon to be cooked. It comes with butternut squash, cauliflower, spinach and pesto.
Oh... dont hesitate to try this place. It really...
Read moreIt's extremely loud with all the people and glass windows. Glass is terrible for high frequency noise. Slightly less loud than it would be without the garage doors down. Anyway, started off by asking about the beer they have. The server said one IPA has fruit and the other does not. Well, that turned out to be a lie. Grapefruit juice is, shocker, fruit. I did not like the beer and it was a waste of money.
The server recommended the biscuits. Ordered cheddar. There was so much butter that I had a nasty butter after taste that lingered even after I finished my entire meal. Literal pool of butter at the bottom of the pan the biscuits swam in and butter melted all over the top. They were also covered in sugar which crunched when you chew. Not pleasant. The sugar was not necessary at all.
My noodles were tasty, however they were swimming in a strong flavored sauce which drowned out taste from anything else. Not terrible though. Although, when the server started off they stated customizing anything on the menu was no issue. When I stated I would like steak instead of chicken it turned into this confusing and annoying conversation about other things on the menu. Ending with me saying just leave it the way it is, I can't deal with this right now. Anything but easy. Just bring me food and lets leave it at that ok?
Other than that, I don't like to be bothered. I couldn't keep track of the number of times someone came up to talk to us. I felt like saying can you just leave us alone for five minutes please? Four different people coming up to our table to talk to us is too much. I couldn't leave quickly enough.
There seemed to be a lot of happy people in the place, and that's great for them. This place is not for me. Most people would probably...
Read moreThe ambiance is energetic! It's one of the more vibrant places we "seasoned citizens" dine. The food is so good, we don't mind! Saturday we had went for lunch and was surprised to find a fabulous brunch menu. We've been in the evenings and weekdays and didn't realize brunch was an option. We shared a Homestyle Breakfast (scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon--which we substituted for fried chicken tenders, and toast) and the Creme Brulee French toast. I am a very good cook but I can't figure out how the staff prepares the scrambled eggs! They are out of this world delicious!! The chicken tenders are fantastic...normally I have the fried chicken tender salad with the fantastic buttermilk ranch dressing...so I asked for the substitution of chicken instead of bacon. The Creme Brulee French Toast is unbelievably delicious. Perfect in every way, with seasonal berries, crushed almond brittle sprinkled on top and a dollop of whipped mascarpone cheese on the top! The coffee is delicious and I don't always think that wherever I dine! Jackson at the bar took excellent care of us. We liked being seated at the bar because it is lively and a bit noisy ambiance and we can talk to one another easier there. My only regret was this visit I did not get to order the heavenly cheddar and chive biscuits!!! Besides the fried chicken tender salad which is my usual go-to menu order, I also love the lobster bisque! What a treasure it is to have Kitchen Social in our...
