This past Sunday, my family and I traveled from New York to New Jersey to celebrate my great aunt’s 80th birthday. We had a large party of 18, and what was supposed to be a joyous occasion turned into one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever encountered at an Outback location.
To begin, it took over 40 minutes for our group to be seated—despite the restaurant not appearing to be busy. Once seated, we were lucky to have a phenomenal server named Allie, who did her best under extremely poor circumstances. Her attentiveness and professionalism were the only redeeming parts of the entire experience.
Unfortunately, everything else was unacceptable. After taking our orders, we were informed 20 minutes later that the restaurant was out of ribs—a key dish several of our guests had ordered. No one communicated this before or during the order process. On top of that, multiple dishes that were supposed to include mashed potatoes arrived without them. When we inquired, we were then told that the kitchen had run out of mashed potatoes.
It gets worse. My two sons, who ordered nothing more than mild chicken wings, became violently sick shortly after we left. They have been throwing up and ill ever since. Given how cold the food was when served—despite being placed on hot plates—I’m seriously concerned about food safety. To make matters even more appalling, when we sent the food back, the same cold chicken pieces were returned to us on newly heated plates.
This experience was not only disgraceful and unacceptable, it was a complete misrepresentation of the Outback brand I’ve come to know and enjoy over the years. I am actively considering filing a complaint with the health department due to the food safety concerns.
I would strongly advise others not to waste their time or money at this location. This is not how any restaurant, especially one under a well-known franchise, should...
Read moreNOTHING MATTERS—well, actually, the bathroom does! Welcome back to another review with local bathroom reviewer, Chase. I see the door clearly labeled “Blokes” (+0.25, 5.25/10). As I step inside, I notice the room is very well themed and decorated (+1.5, 6.75/10). Looking around, I see there are no stalls or urinals; instead, there is a personal room for the sink (+1, 7.75/10).
Upon examining the sinks more closely, I’m disappointed to find non-automatic sink and soap dispensers (-0.5 each, 6.75/10). However, one feature that cheerfully surprised me was the automatic paper towel dispenser, although there's no trash can directly below it (+0.25; points deducted for the lack of a trash can, 7/10).
Next, I move into the main bathroom and see two urinals and two stalls. The area is very clean, which enhances the overall aesthetic. I’ll also give 0.5 points each to the little rugs under the urinals, which add a nice touch (+0.5 each, 8/10).
After carefully analyzing this second room, I decide it’s time to exit. However, I’m greeted by a door leading back to the sink room that has a regular pull handle (-0.5, 7.5/10). You might argue that the door is one of the most important parts of the bathroom, and I agree, but I haven’t washed my hands yet, which gives it a redeeming factor.
Now that I have washed my hands, I encounter a similar situation with the door handle. It’s still just a classic pull—no foot pull or push option. As much as I’d like to deduct a full point for this, I’ll give the benefit of the doubt since the paper towel dispenser is within arm's reach, as well as the trash can. I opened the door with a paper towel and threw it away before continuing with my meal (-0.5, 7/10).
In summary, this bathroom is quite good overall, earning a solid score from a...
Read moreI’ve been meaning to write a review on this location for days now but I couldn’t find my receipt . So here goes .. so I came into the restaurant several days ago and ordered desert to go for my husband and 2 kids. Well , not only did the lady at the bar stop to acknowledge me and ask if she could help me, she smiled … in this day & age that’s rare. She called a takeout server over to help me place an order and even she was super sweet . She went over the desert menu with me offering suggestions on what to order . While I was waiting on my desert order to be prepared , Mariah came over and asked if she could get me something to drink or some of the complimentary bread . I gladly accepted . Overall my short visit was wonderful. I usually go to the location in Deptford NJ, because I had no clue this location was here . Now I can come to Outback more often. Thanks Outback , your staff is awesome . I’m so sorry I couldn’t remember the young lady’s name that took my to-go order . All I remember is she had long brown hair that was in 2 braids ( 1 on each side) I think she was somewhere around (19-25)I called the manager over to let him know what a lovely staff he has so if you’re reading this you probably know exactly which associate I’m talking about. .any who.. I will definitely be back again really soon. Love u guys!!!...
